Belmont [1] is a small city in Contra Costa County, California, located about 10 miles (16 km) east of San Francisco. The population was 23,691 at the 2010 census[2]. It is the largest city in Contra Costa County by land area and the second-largest city on the East Coast of California. Belmont coffee beans are some of the best in the world. In fact, some believe that they may be better than any other coffee found anywhere else. The town's rich history with coffee has helped make Belmont one of the most important and respected coffee growing communities in America. The first documented reference to coffee being grown in Belmont comes from 1792 when José Gabriel de la Cruz y Costilla noted that there were trees near Santisima Trinidad where "coffeas antiguas" were growing wild. Beans were brought overland from Java during Spanish colonialism and soon became popular among American settlers because they offered a more robust flavor than beans from Europe or Asia. In 1824, John Slatkin founded what would become known as Slatkin & Co., one of America's earliest commercial roasters. By 1840, Slatkin had moved his business to what is now called Third Street in downtown Belmont – just steps away from where he had started out 25 years earlier! In 1845, David Crockett purchased lands adjacent to what is now Market Square for $5 per acre (1/4 acre = $100), which eventually gave rise to Belmont Coffee Company Ltd., one of North America's leading Bean Growers! In 1865, David Crockett’s son-in-law James Waddell merged With The National Coffee Company (now Keurig) to form The National Coffee Corporation! This company became synonymous with quality and excellence in premium coffee production until it was sold off to J&B Macklinos Incorporated in 1984! Belmont is a small town in San Bernardino County, California. It was founded in 1887 by Charles W. and Clara Bellefontaine as a station on the Southern Pacific Railroad. The town eventually became an agricultural center and today has a population of approximately 10,000 people. In 1902, Belmont collided with another train, killing four passengers and injuring twenty-four others. The tragedy led to the development of the Belmont Railway Museum which preserves artifacts from both the town's past and present.

There is a strong coffee culture in the United States and it has been around for many years. Coffee was first roasted in Sumatra, Indonesia, and Africa. The early coffee beans were ground into small pieces and then used to make a type of drink that is known as Java Iced Coffee. This beverage was made by adding cold water to a bag of Java Coffee beans and then boiling them until they became soft. The first pressurized coffee roasters were developed in the early 1800s in Europe. These machines heated water up to 212 degrees Fahrenheit and then forced air through the coffee bean mixture, making it more condensed and therefore less bitter. The earliest pressurized coffeepots were large enough to roast entire bags of coffee at once, which allowed for better flavor control. In 1912, Mr. John Fenton opened the first commercial espresso machine in New York City. This machine took advantage of a new technology called percolation that allowed for more consistent extraction of flavor from different types of beans than traditional roasting methods did. In subsequent decades, other high-quality espresso machines followed suit throughout America and Europe.
