The Beverly Hills National Guard was founded on December 15, 1941 when the United States of America declared war on Japan. The first national guard unit was organized in Van Nuys, California, and the first deployable forces were sent to Hawaii. The Beverly Hills National Guard has continuously served our country since World War II, making it one of the oldest and most decorated units in the LA County Sheriff’s Department. Today, the Beverly Hills National Guard is a proud member of Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department who support law enforcement efforts both domestically and abroad. With over 1,000 members strong across multiple organizations including infantry companies (the 9th Infantry Regiment), artillery batteries (the 5th Artillery Battalion), air strike units (the 4th Wing) and special operations squads (the 101st Airborne Division), we are committed to providing 24/7 military support to local law enforcement officers. The Beverly Hills National Guard Heritage Museum is located at 6200 Mulholland Drive in Brentwood, California and open to the public from Memorial Day through Labor Day every year. This museum preserves our nation’s history as well as its members’ unique spirit and culture.
