The United States Army was founded on April 6, 1846, in Brawley, California. The unit was officially named the 1st Infantry Regiment and consisted of only men. However, due to a lack of volunteers and equipment, the regiment was not fielded until 1847. The first combat action occurred during the Mexican-American War when 2nd Lieutenant John C. Fremont led his company against Mexicans at Buena Vista Rancho Viejo. From this point on, the 1st Infantry Regiment played an important role in American history as a Frontier Regular army unit that fought in many battles including Lassen Peak (1849), Buena Vista (1850), and numerous other engagements throughout California. In 1861, following the Civil War, the 1st Infantry Regiment became part of the newly created 10th Cavalry Brigade under General William T. Sherman. During their participation in The Great Sioux Campaign (1864- 1865), these soldiers were some of the first units to cross over into Indian Territory under Sherman’s orders and engage Native Americans near Fort Yates on July 8th, 1864; one day after General Grant’s famous “March from Prairie du Chien” campaign ended with a decisive victory at Vicksburg! This engagement is now considered one of America’s most dramatic military victories ever! Following World War II, both battalions were redesignated as infantry brigades effective September 15th 1951 but remain inactive today as part of U S Army Forces Europe

Brawley is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 2,876 at the 2010 census. It lies on the eastern edge of Kern County and it is bordered by Bakersfield to the north, Del Norte to the east, Mono to the south and east again by Tulare County. The name "Brawley" was given to the settlement by an early settler named John Brawley. He had been driving his wagon through what is now Brawley when he saw a group of Indians gathered around a fire in what is now known as Indian Wells Park. After seeing that there were no horses or other means of transportation available for them to leave their campsite, he decided that this would be a good place to set up camp. From then on, "Brawley" became known as "the Settlement". As time passed and more people moved into Brawley from surrounding areas, new businesses started up and various amenities were added such as public schools (now closed), churches (now defunct), water systems (now nonexistent) and even a post office! In fact, so many businesses operated in Brawley at one point that it became difficult for residents to distinguish one from another! One result of all these activities was that many of the original buildings still stand today including The Grange which served as home base for many early settlers; The Lyceum which offered educational opportunities; The Baptist Church which served as both community center and social gathering spot; Parsonage #1 which housed many local farmers during peak times; Asphalt Avenue which provided accessorial services such as lawn care and car detailing; and finally The Park where residents could enjoy fishing or playing softball despite very little natural water resources! Today, although much has changed since those early days - most notably with technology - aspects of life are still very similar in Brawley. For example, most people herestill use hand-held radios because they are just too darn inconvenient without them! And despite some challenges faced recently such as housing prices reaching an all-time high due mainly to trending oil prices - nonetheless, residents continue to hold onto their hope that things will eventually improve!

Brawley is a small town in Stockton County, California, United States. The population was 1,717 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of the Sacramento River. The area now known as Brawley was first settled by Native Americans in the 1770s. A post office was established at Brawley in 1858, and settlement continued until 1912 when it merged with nearby Rancho Seco to form the current town of Brawley. Brawley became an agricultural center after water rights were acquired from the Sacramento River for irrigation in 1902. The town's first store and sawmill opened in 1904. In 1907 a railroad station was built and served as a community hub for farmers and ranchers who grew vegetables and fruit on their property banks around the river. In 1908, lumbermen came to Brawley to build a sawmill using local cherry trees which had been cut down during a drought year that year. The mill operated until 1916 when it burned down due to arson; however, this did not stop other entrepreneurs from starting businesses within Brawley over time including a grocery store (1918), bank (1920), auto parts store (1922), dance hall (1924), clothing store (1925) and barbershop (1927). In 1931, the new main street in town was named after Jock Hargrave who had been instrumental in developing agriculture in south Central California during his lifetime; this name change didn't reflect actual changes that were happening within town at that time such as population growth or development of housing options like tract homes or mobile home parks which began popping up elsewhere near junction points throughout Stockton County while Brawley remained largely rural with few development opportunities outside of its core village/town features
