The Coast Guard has been providing law enforcement and emergency services along the California coast for over 120 years. In that time, they have donated a wide range of gifts to local communities. Some of the most popular gifts from the Coast Guard include fishing gear, boat parts, and even uniforms! Some of the earliest Coast Guard gift donations came in 1881 when a detachment from San Francisco’s 5th Regiment donated a total of 12 rifles, 11 shotguns, 7 pistols, 1 revolver and 2 rifles to Brawley (later Bodega Bay) Naval Station. The station was then used as a training ground for new officers and men. In 1907, the Coast Guard donated 3 lifeboats to Stockton (later Sacramento) harbor. The first two boats were used to help navigate shipping during severe weather conditions. The third boat was donated by Captain Augustus Fenton who served on the staff of then-Governor George Prentice’s Department of Navigation. In 1922, Captain Ernest Wetherald Geddes offered his ship “HMS Midshipman” (then called HMS President) for use as a coastal patrol vessel in San Diego Harbor. This donation proved to be very beneficial as it allowed the Coast Guard to improve their patrol capabilities at this important harbor. The next year saw another significant donation when Captains John Ayer and Cesar Chavez gave their USS Constitution Cutter “Chavez” into service at San Pedro Harbor in Los Angeles County. This donation was very helpful because it allowed the Coast Guard to build up their fleet with more modern ships which would better serve them in times of need. This continued throughout World War II until 1945 when all commercial traffic between America and Europe was cut off by war-time restrictions. As a result, many vessels were mothballed or sold off which made it difficult for members of the Coast Guard to provide needed deckhands and other support services during these tough times! However, things changed after World War II when regulations began allowing again commercial traffic between America and Europe! With this opening up of new markets, members of the Coast guard were able to return back into service with renewed vigor! Throughout this time period there have been many different special event programs that have been instituted in order for members of the Coast guard community to donate items such as dog tags or pendants inspired by marine life orrays found along our coastline! These events are always an excellent way for people living near our coastlineto get involved with both law enforcement and emergency services!

The Brawley Coast Guard Station was established in 1923. The first Coast Guard officer on the station was Captain Harry Fenton. In 1928, the station became a permanent installation with a full complement of officers and men. The Brawley Station has been staffed by the Coast Guard since 1923.
Brawley, California is a small town in the Central Valley of California. The population was 1,644 at the 2010 census. It is located about 20 miles east of Fresno and about 25 miles north of Stockton. The Brawley Volunteer Fire Company was organized in 1868. The first fire was fought on October 8th and 9th. The company had two engines and twelve men. In 1881, the Brawley Volunteer Fire Department became an all-volunteer department with six engines and sixty-six men. In 1907, the Brawley post office opened and continued to serve until it closed in 1923 due to World War I rationing restrictions. In 1927, Mrs. Hilda Atherton donated land to build a high school which would be known as Westside High School after her home town in England where she grew up. The school served students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade for many years before closing in 1986 due to budget constraints then being shifted to nearby Stockton Unified School District high schools which increased enrollment by 50%. In 2013, the City Council voted unanimously to close the high school effective September 1st due to its low graduation rate (less than half of students completing each class) coupled with other shortcomings such as an inadequate library system that does not have any eBooks or used books available for browsing or purchase, aging infrastructure including no water or sewer systems that have been out of service for over ten years now, lack of space for new classrooms/hallways/ corridors etc., among other factors making it difficult for students who were already struggling academically given their smaller campus size combined with larger classes sizes at their district's schools). Despite this vote there are still talkings between representatives from both sides regarding possible future operations or redevelopment should either side decide they want it back though there has yet been any definitive announcement made one way or another[1]).
The Coast Guard gift history goes back to the very beginning of their existence. One of the first things they did was set up a local station at Sandy Hook, Connecticut in 1916. This was followed by establishment of bases all along the United States coast in 1917 and 1919. The Coast Guard also began providing search and rescue services during World War I. Brawley was founded in 1876 by John and Anna Brawley. The town was named after General Philip H. Sheridan, the hero of the Battle of Bull Run. The Brawleys were local farmers who decided to set up a settlement on their farmstead because it offered good land and a climate that suited them. After five years of construction, they moved into their first house in 1880. The family continued to live there until 1910 when they sold the property to the city for $5,000. In 1912, the city designated Brawley as its first center for housing developments with a population of 100 people or more.
In 1932, Brawley became part of Malibu County and was incorporated as an unincorporated community. It remained an agricultural community until 1976 when it became part of the City of Malibu. As an urban community, Brawley has experienced significant growth over the past few decades including annexation by Los Angeles and now has a population over 25,000 residents.
The history of Brawley is intertwined with that of Malibu Creek which runs through it from east to west and provides drinking water for both communities. Once a common travel route between Loyola Marymount University students living in Encino and downtown Los Angeles, today only 2 miles (3 kilometers) separates Malibu Creek from Interstate 5.This week

John Broughton started farming in 1876 and his son John Jr.'s wife Anna helped him run the farm until 1900 when she sold it to the city for $5,000 after moving back East with her children.
