In Brentwood, California, the National Guard has been a part of the community for many years. The first National Guard unit to arrive in Brentwood was the 2nd Infantry Battalion in 1915. The battalion was originally stationed at Camp Pendleton and then moved to Fort Bragg in 1918. The 2nd Infantry Battalion was disbanded in 1945, but its members were reraised and reorganized as the 1st Cavalry Regiment in 1951. In 1971, the regiment was again renamed as the 1st Armored Division and assigned to United States Army Central Command. In 1991, when Operation Desert Storm began, the division was activated and deployed to Saudi Arabia as part of Multinational Force Southwest (MNF-SW). From 1992-1995, the division served as training ground for Special Forces units before being reassigned to Northern Europe where it remained until 1998 when it returned home and garrisoned at Fort Hood on Texas’s border with Mexico. The 1st Armored Division is an honor guard unit that has played a significant role in local communities throughout its history. This unit has also been called upon to help protect government property or respond to natural disasters such as hurricanes or earthquakes. One of theunit's most famous moments occurred during World War II when it transported troops across country on Omaha Beach into Normandy beachhead after D-Day. Additionally, during Vietnam War this unit aided locals by providing security at major villages along their route of travel. After 9/11 DraftKings conducted a study which found that Brentwood had one of highest concentrations of military personnel within 5 miles of any city in America - this made national headlines because there are no other cities with this many military personnel per capita! Currently there are over 4200 Guardsmen serving our Nation out of 30 counties across California! These men and women have dedicated their lives to our country - they all wear uniforms and carry Mace while they service us every day! We cannot thank them enough for their support!

The Brentwood National Guard was organized on January 15, 1861 under the command of Brigadier General George T. Cooke. The first regiment was raised in Brentwood on December 10th, 1861 and named the 1st Battalion, California Volunteer Infantry. On July 7th, 1862 the 1st Battalion became part of 4th Regiment California Volunteers and was redesignated as Company C, 2nd Battalion California Infantry on October 14th. On February 24th, 1863 the company was redesignated as Company D and became a part of 8th Regiment California Volunteers on April 25th. The regiment served in the Mexican-American War from May to September 1846 at Ayotzinapa and Monterrey. From November 8th to December 16th it fought at Buena Vista Heights against Pancho Villa's forces. After that battle it moved east to Irapuato where it participated in the Santa Ana campaign from January 7-April 9 1848 before returning to Monterey County on October 5th 1850 for duty inbuildings near Sacramento until mustering out with Companies A & B at Stockton April 17,1853. On August 26 1859 Colonel John Sutter's battalion arrived in Southern California from Nevada Territory and began garrisoning San Francisco Bay Area including Brentwood which had been brought over by artillerymen under Colonel Doniphan who had left for Mexico City with orders to protect American citizens there after Mexican president Porfirio Diaz took office promising an end to hostilities but instead discovered he still had support among some Mexicans who were providing arms and money to emperor Joaquín Herrera y Costilla who continued resistance even when American troops arrived). Company F (1st Battalion) also garrisoned Brentwood which became an important center for military supplies moving through town during this time period thanks in part to local farmer Amos Freeman who supplied most of what guns were needed for militia service while also building a large ammunition depot across road from school yard just past old post office which is now home of current daySF State Building). The guard detachment numbering ninety men including Captain Augustus Wolski (the first enlisted man ever commissioned into U.S. Army) arrived at Ft Shafter June 20 1858 along with three companies Of infantry (Cavalry), two companies Of artillery (2 cannons each) & three companies Of cavalry provided by New York Governor Stevensons' Department of War acting upon order received from President James Buchanan In 1860s many young men volunteered their services especially because they saw no other way out given all that was going wrong back then such as slavery being abolished and war raging between North America & Mexico

After his death, his generals decided to keep his memories alive by forming a national guard unit named after him! Since then, the National Guard has grown tremendously! Today, there are more than 6 million active members across America! Not only do they provide security for our infrastructure and communities, but they have also become very popular among fans of sports (especially football) and music!

Brentwood, California was founded in 1847 by settlers who arrived on the west coast of America. Brentwood is a small town located in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County, and it is one of the oldest incorporated towns in Southern California. The town has a population of about 60,000 residents and it is home to two universities, UCLA and USC. The local economy depends on agriculture, manufacturing and light industry.
Brentwood began as a small farming community in the Mexican province of Baja California on the edge of present-day Los Angeles County. The first Anglo settlers arrived in 1847, and by 1851 Brentwood had become an agricultural center with a population of about 100. In 1861, Brentwood was founded as a city by John C. Frémont and his wife, Nancie Haggerty. The city became one of Southern California's largest after it was annexed by Los Angeles in 1893. In 1915, Brentwood became the municipality of its own and experienced rapid growth due to its location at the intersection of two major routes: I-10 and U.S. 101. In 1920, Brentwood annexed portions of Agoura Hills and Calabasas Hills, bringing its population to over 1,000 people. In 1945, during World War II, the United States military constructed Camp Beaumont in Brentwood for use as an airbase during the war effort; this led to increased development around Camp Beaumont and also produced somewig new businesses in town such as Paintball Resources Inc., which began manufacturing paintballs in 1948.
