Buena Park, California is a city located in Southern California on the shores of Lake Buena Vista. The population was 105,746 as of 2010. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The city is named after José Buenaventura Rivera, who purchased land adjacent to what is now downtown in 1853 for $100. The city's rich history began with its incorporation as a town on December 6, 1881. On May 12, 1886, it became an incorporated city under the name of "Los Angeles". The first mayor was John Houghtaling and the first recorder was Wm. Fenton. The city experienced growth from its early days until annexation by Los Angeles in 1920. In that year, it had a population of 59,564 and had two banks; First National Bank and Trust Company and Peoples Savings Bank. In 1926 it had a population of 101,621 and four banks: First National Bank (now Citibank), Peoples Savings Bank (now HSBC), Farmers & Merchants State Bank (now Wells Fargo) and Orange County Commercial Banking Company (later Jpmorgan Chase). As one of the cities annexed into Los Angeles during1920s rapid growth in southern California - including Hollywood - Buena Park played an important role in developing this region around both LAX Airport and downtown Los Angeles through civic activities such as staging public meetings about issues such asland use or traffic congestion; providing employment opportunities for local men who were laid off during World War I or displaced due to African American relocation; sponsoring baseball games at Chavez Ravine Stadium between Leland Stanford Junior University students from Northridge High School north of Downtown LA attended since their homes were too far away for high school sport; hosting events like dances at South Coast Plaza Hotel which attracted many elite families from Beverly Hills eastward; co-sponsoring concerts at Hollywood Bowl hosted by then- Mayor James Phelan - withstanding opposition from some Angelenos who felt that the close proximity to open air stadiums favored athletes over residents; working to have streets around airport renamed congested arterial streets like Ventura Street instead thereof becoming more bicycle paths/lanes leading out towards new parks while also building new industrial areas near airport property southwest of downtownLA – these efforts helped make Buena Park one of LA's most livable communities post-urbancrisis despite struggles with crime rates being above those seen throughout much larger areas surroundingLA followingthe Great Depression

The town was incorporated on October 15, 1890. The name "Buena Park" originated with a story about a beautiful girl who used to walk around the park with her brother. One day, she saw a group of people playing at the park and ran away in terror because she thought they were going to kidnap her. Consequently, the name stuck and has been used ever since as an identifier for this specific section of Southern California.
Buena Park is a city in Orange County, California. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The first European to see Buena Park was Gabriel Catalina on October 15, 1769, when he and his fellow teamsters stopped there on their way from Mission Viejo to San Diego. He named it after a small town in Spain that he had seen while on his journey. In 1857, John Davenport founded Davenport & Company cotton warehouse in what is now Buena Park. This Warehouse was one of many Cotton warehouses built during the late 1800s as Southern California grew into an agricultural powerhouse due to its colder climate and abundance of natural resources. After years of growth, Davenport went bankrupt in 1892 and sold his warehouse to James Pemberton for $3000. Pemberton renamed the building "Pemberton's Palace" and used it as a hotel until 1906 when he sold it to Raymond Hahn for $200000. In 1911, Hahn donated land for a park which would later become known as Buena Park Rancho Santa Fe de la Laguna site where he opened up his own estate called "Hahn's Castle". The park opened up in 1915 with President Woodrow Wilson being the first president to come through the gates (he took a train from downtown Los Angeles). From 1916-1918, Buena Park was home to Hollywood Bowl which served as both an exhibition arena for football games and also hosted trade shows and other events throughout the year. On November 25th 1918 Hollywood Bowl got its biggest event ever when World War I veteran aviator Eddie Rickenbacker delivered his famous speech inside at Hollywood Bowl before flying back out again that night after landing at nearby Toluca Lake Airport just south of town square! In 1926 John Lennon lived briefly while working on music videos at "Hahn's Castle". In 1963-1964 Robert Wise shot scenes for 'The Partridge Family' at 'Hahn's Castle'. On July 9th 1966 Orange County Register reporter Don Armstrong reported that two young men were found murdered inside 'Hahn's Castle'; they have never been solved! On December 12th 1971 David Bowie played two concerts at Anaheim Stadium - one headlined by Alice Cooper ('Welcome To Mysteryland'), followed by another concert headlined by Led Zeppelin (' Houses Of The Holy'). Although these concerts were well-received by both audiences and press alike, no arrests or charges resulted from either performance however subsequent investigations revealed that these events may not have been entirely legal! oramageous: buenapark
