Buena Park, California is a city located in San Diego County, California. As of the 2010 United States Census, it had a population of 151,055. The city motto is "What La Jolla Did Not Do." It is situated on both sides of the bay and includes a large amount of open space. The city was named for an American actress and socialite, Blanche Buena Ford. The first Europeans to visit the area were Padres José Antonio de Anza and Francisco Pico de la Rúa who explored the coast in 1775-76. In 1821 Captain John Treadway landed at what is now Buena Park with his squadron of ships commanded by Commodore James Kapp and anchored nears shore while exploring Santa Barbara Strait. He found good anchorage there but when he returned to sea his ship got caught in shoals near Point Conception so he abandoned it there for two months. A party led by Lieutenant Juan Bautista Alvarado reached the shipwreck on 11 May 1821 which they called Isla del Dios since it looked like an island to them. On 5 July 1822three British warships arrived at San Diego Bay from Monterey Peninsula with orders from Queen Victoria to search for any Spanish vessels wrecked along California's coast because she believed that Mexico was guilty of suppressing news of Napoleon's victory over Prussia in Europe known as the Peninsular War (1814-1815). Commodore James Kapp sighted one such vessel off Point Conception on 25 October 1822 while sailing southbound between Dana Point and Catalina Island but did not stop because he thought it might be only a Pirate Ship looking for plunder instead of anotherSubmit your paper

Buena Park, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 74,177 at the 2010 census. It has been the home of many famous people and institutions including Disneyland, the University of Southern California and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team.
The Buena Park, California area was first populated by the mission system of Franciscans in 1769. The Mexican land grant of Rancho San Pedro de Atascadero was given to Luis Fernando Vallejo in 1821. In 1848, the United States acquired California from Mexico and set up the Alta California Republic. In 1850, a census found that Buena Park had a population of just over 100 people and no schools. In 1861, John C. Frémont explored this area and named it after General José Angel Pico y Costilla who won the Battle of Plata on October 21st that year. On November 7th 1860, Governor Manuel Micheltorena appointed Don Ricardo Flores as Deputy Surveyor-General for Los Angeles County with responsibility for all mineral rights within 12 miles of Anaheim Hills including Buena Park. This office included exploring and surveying lands east to Long Beach which were later annexed by Anaheim Hills in 1888. On February 14th 1863, Mormon missionaries arrived at Blytheville near present-day Orange County and began proselytizing for Jesus Christ among local Native American peoples known as the Ohlone. This act caused great conflict between Missionaries (Spanish speaking) and indigenous people who considered their land an inheritance from their fatherland not subject to conversion or ownership by white men without proper title or authority under Spanish law; this conflict is still referred to today as the "Mission Wars." In 1865 Don José Cisneros purchased Rancho San Pedro de Atascadero from Missionaries for $5,000 which led to increased settlement in what is now Buena Park along with other nearby communities such as Garden Grove and Irvine beach which would be developed into large metropolitan areas during the 20th century
