Buena Park, California is a city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 68,859 at the 2010 census. It is the seventh most populous city in Orange County and the second most populous city in Los Angeles County after Los Angeles. The area that now Buena Park was part of Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana (now parts of Anaheim and Santa Ana) from 1821 to 1826. When Mission San Gabriel Arcangelico was founded on October 26, 1795 by Father José Joaquín De La Salle, it passed through Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana on its way to Monterey Bay. The mission became known as El Camino Real because of this route it took. In 1826, part of Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana was sold to José Antonio Yorba who platted what is now Buena Park and built two churches there: Mission San Jose y Nuestra Señora del Carmen and Mission San Francisco Arcángel. On February 14th, 1867, part of Rancho Santiago de Santa Ana was acquired by an act of Congress for $3 million dollars in cash which created the town site lying between rodent-infested Calabasas Creek and Proposed Roads 10 east of present day Hillcrest Avenue and between present day Springvale Boulevard southwesterly to Pasadena Boulevard northwesterly (present day Agoura Hills Boulevard). On October 15th 1860 John Sutter arrived at Yucaipa with his party led by Captain Waddell who had come down the Pacific Coast Trail from Sacramento via Bakersfield looked for new land grants on which he could build a house for his family members located at Nevada Street near Imperial Highway about one mile distant from where we stand today taking into account everything above including what is now called Ballpark Drive

Buena Park, California is an enclave in Southern California County. It has a population of about 113,000 people and covers an area of just 3.5 square miles (10 km2). The city was founded on October 15,1892 by Jameson A. Payne as the town of Buena Vista on the site of what is now called Sunset Boulevard and North Orange Avenue. The name Buena Park was chosen to reflect its healthful climate and its Santana-like sound, which according to one account originated from the grove of orange trees located near the town's center. The first post office in Buena Park opened in 1893. In 1915, the United States Postal Service moved to this location from Stockton after receiving complaints from residents there about low postal service quality in that city. This allowed for more consistent mail delivery throughout southern California counties. It was during World War II that Buena Park became a major military airfield used by the United States Air Force for training pilots and bombing missions over Japan; it also served as a place for American troops to rest and recuperate following combat campaigns in Europe and South Asia. In 1957, local citizens passed a resolution calling for annexation into Los Angeles County due to concerns about sprawl within their community; this proposal was accepted by county leaders but never put into action because then-County President Alex Padilla refused to sell land adjacent to San Bernardino Valley Airport to make way for Buena Park development projects. During later years, some progress was made towards reincorporation into Los Angeles County through various efforts including plans made by then-Governor Jerry Brown and then- Sheriff Lee Baca; however these efforts were met with criticism from downtownLos Angeles merchants who felt they had been left behind in terms of economic development opportunities within their city limits. Today, much like when it originally formed, BuenaPark remains largely self-sufficient with limited services available outside its borders such as water or trash collection
