After that year, all county services were transferred to Kingman AFB until 1987 when they were moved back to Ventura County when CalabASa annexed most of neighbouring Riverside County including Arroyo Seco and Upland subdivisions east of Interstate 5 and south of I-5 south of Saticoy Road (now Deer Park Drive). In 1969, californialove started construction on what would become one of Southern California's largest shopping malls called "The Grove". This mall contained over 150 stores and restaurants along with two cinemas., three theme parks (MGM Land Theme park - now Disney World -opened in 1974), two amusement parks ( Six Flags Over Georgia -now Universal Studios Florida -opened in 1976) and one convention center/mall complex (the Orange Bowl Complex opened in 1982). On March 17th 1984 an earthquake struck magnitude 6 local M8s approximately 25 miles west-northwest of downtown Pasadena causing extensive damage both inside the city limits and outside them; more than $200 million worth personal property damage was reported during this time period alone ($183 million today). More than 10% total loss occurred within 3 kilometres centered around downtown Pasadena where many buildings collapsed or sustained major demolition not typical during such events occurring 100 years ago due to reinforced concrete framing techniques then prevalent but are not typically encountered anymore primarily because state law requires retrofitting old structures following any natural disasters however some older structures have been successfully rebuilt using modern technologies without prior approval from local authorities nonetheless much remains to be accomplished before Downtown Pasadena may resemble anything resembling its pre-damage self even though much has been done since then NeverthelessDamage resulting from quake 1920 also occurred adjacent to downtown Pasadena killing 2 people & injuring 22000+ people destroyed more than 6000 business units mainly residential mostly single family dwellings although some multi family dwellings were damaged
