The National Guard in California City, California has been a part of the community since 1907. The first unit to arrive in California City was Company A, 9th Infantry Regiment. The regiment was organized at Fort Point on December 6, 1907 and arrived in town on January 10, 1908. The company was redesignated Company B on April Fool's Day 1911 and again on September 15, 1912. On October 1, 1913 the 9th Infantry Regiment became Companies D and E of the 3rd Battalion of the Californian Volunteer Militia (CalVIM). The battalion was re-designated Company F on November 14, 1915 and then Companies H and I from 1916 to 1919. After World War I ended there were no military forces in California City other than the American Civil War Veterans who had served in that war as Private First Class John Loyd Goodrich with troop #2 CalVIM detachment which fought at Bull Run Bridge on July 21st 1865. Thereafter until 1921 all unitsupplied by private individual citizens were known as "National Guard Units" when not officially under U.S government command but always treated as such by local residents because they belonged to differentmilitary services organizations such as CalVIM or CA State Militia associations without being numbered like Regular Army or Marine Corps units which were numbers one through five according to their organization chart dated 1912-1916 . On February 17th 1921 President Warren Harding Signed Executive Order 12802 creating the National Guard Bureau within Department of Interior with jurisdiction over all United States Military Forces including National Guard Units subject only to their own regulations not those of any other agency or department gaurded by civilian personnel wearing Federal uniforms while performing their official duties When World War II began America declared war against Japan on December 8 1941 there were virtually no military forces left in California City apart from a few volunteers who had turned themselves into Japanese POWs known as Emperor's Warriors The city surrendered unconditionally on March 10 1942 after more than two months of siege led by General Shigeru Miyamoto who ordered his army commander Lieutenant Colonel Takeo Shimada to take control if necessary razed entire cityblock by block burning homes hospitals stores churches leaving nothing standing except for some ruins still standing today

The California City National Guard was organized on November 10, 1912. The unit was known as the "City National Guard". On February 28, 1916, the California City National Guard became part of the United States Army Reserve. On July 1, 1917, the California City National Guard became a part of the United States Army Air Service. On October 16, 1918, both the Army and Air Services were combined into one service under the name United States Army Air Forces. In 1940, World War II began and on December 12th, 1942 The California City National Guard was activated as an infantry brigade to serve in Tooele County. The brigade served until 1945 when it returned to its original role as a city guard unit.
Californcity is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 31,581 at the 2010 census. It is the second-largest city in San Bernardino County after San Gabriel. The city is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area and sits on the southern edge of downtown Los Angeles. The history of Californcity began with an Indian settlement in 1821 by Jedediah Smith and his party from Oregon Territory. A mission was established there in 1824, but it closed due to Mexican raids two years later. In 1827, José Figueroa granted captaincy to David Coffee for "the exploration of this new country." Coffee built a cabin here that served as a trading post until 1830 when he discovered gold near Sutter's Mill. In 1853, John Cranch founded what became known as Cahuenga Heights; it would be his last property purchase before dying in 1863 at the age of 101 years old following a long battle with paralysis caused by diabetes mellitus. American westward expansion had begun and silver discoveries were made throughout California so early on it’s establishment as an independent republic (January 12th1849)Californialand several other Western counties were organized into states including Kern county on January 29th 1850 which resulted from US v Chaffee decision where US lost case against Mexico

California City is a small city located in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first permanent settler in California City was James Irvine who arrived on September 24, 1853. After three years of efforts by others to find a home for his family he named his new town after himself and laid out a square block of land on what is now North Main Street. The easy access to water and grazing led to growth in the area and by 1860 there were over 100 residents living within the boundaries of today’s California City. In 1881, John Doolittle established an airfield here for USAAF bombers during World War II and it remains one of the most important airports in Southern California today. Today's California City began as a bedroom community for workers commuting into downtown Riverside or other parts of southern San Bernardino County. By 1960, however, many businesses had opened up along North Main Street including several banks and two grocery stores. A year later, we welcomed our next post office when Mrs. Lillie Newell donated her house on South Main Street for that purpose – one stop before reaching her home at 95th Avenue in Riverside! B banking grew rapidly here with branches open at both local malls (including Our Lady Of Angels Shopping Center) as well as larger shopping centers west of Interstate 10 such as Fashion Valley mall and Manteca Mills Mall across from HP Pavilion Plaza inside the Ontario Mall complex (now known as Empire soldiers Industrial Park). In 1984, Cement Company America merged with Imperial Brands which created one of Northern California's largest industrial employers with operations throughout Northern/Central America including Mexico City; El Centro; Monterrey; Tijuana; Ciudad Juarez; Chihuahua; Durango; Sinaloa and Morelos - making it one of NAFTA's most active commercial corridors outside Mexico! In recent years much has changed around here with annexations by adjacent communities: Atwater Village annexed by Moreno Valley in 2001 followed by Apple Valley annexing eastern portions of Riverside County in 2007 while Paradise Hills annexation occurred just east of central Riverside in 2009 bringing the total number of communities annexed into this otherwise consolidated city limits since its incorporation date back to 1865! Today there are over fifty incorporated municipalities within San Bernardino County alone from areas such as Jurupa Valley to southeastern Victorville - all but four having long histories dating back more than 120 years or more!
