The military has a long and varied history in Campbell, California. The first United States Military Base was established in 1846 at Camp Goodwin outside of town. It served as a temporary base until the Rancho San Bernardino Mission Complex was built on the same spot in 1851. The mission complex became the permanent home of the US Military in 1893. Campbell is located on both sides of I-5 and is easily accessible from all parts of Northern California. It served as an important training ground for American soldiers during World War II and continues to be used by the US Military today. In 1949, the Army's First Infantry Division moved to Campbell from Fort Benning, Georgia after being activated there a year earlier. Today, the USMC operates two large Marine Battalions stationed here; Marines 2nd Battalion (2d Marines) and 3rd Battalion (3d Marines). Additionally, there are several other military units stationed around Campbell including: The Army National Guard's 5th Brigade Combat Team (Air Defense), 9th Squadron RAF (Airmen), 10th Regiment Mountain Artillery Battery (2/7 Parachute Regiment), 12th Air Assault Wing Reserve Municipal Airport Unit #4(Non-Commissioned Officer), 1st Battalion Sheriff's Department assaults unit and many more! Overall, it is safe to say that Campbell is home to one of America's largest militaries!

Campbell, California is a small town located in the Mono County of California. The population was 1,515 at the 2010 census. Campbell was founded by Mormons in 1879 as a Mormon settlement on an area now known as the North Side of Mesa. The name "Campbell" comes from Latter-day Saint missionary Edward S. Campbell and his wife Emma Bowerside (née Wheeler). The original settlers were Laborers Railway men working for the Central Pacific Railroad and they named theirsettlement after Elder Edward S. Campbell. In 1886, George Waggoner opened a mill here and soon became one of the leading agricultural center in California. In 1912, Waggoner donated land to establish what is now University Park Elementary School District No. 2 which used that land for its first school building in 1915. Today, University Park Elementary School District No., No 3 administers Campbell's schools including Community & Junior High Schools (grades 7-12), Agricultural Technical Institute (ATAI), Mountain View Middle School (grades 7-8), Pioneer High School (grades 9-11) and Pinecrest Middle School (grades 12-14). In 1916, when it came time to build new high schools in Southern Californias newly formed districts, Superintendent John Hylan directed Superintendent George Fenton of San Bernardino County to come up with plans for what would become known as Sierra Canyon High School in Ramona Valley east of Orinda and Donnybrook High School near Antioch respectively; both were built between 1922 and 1926 with designs by architects Harry Neumeyer and Alfred Tilden respectively following successful bids from Everson Burnham Construction Co.. All three high schools are still operational today; Sierra Canyon HS servedRamona Valley from 1922 until 1972 when it merged into Rancho East HSnorth of Orinda then merged into Ramona Valley HS south of Orinda before finally becoming part of Diablo Valley HS north of Orangevale; Donnybrook HS served Antioch from 1925 until 1957 when it merged into Ramona Valley HS south of Orinda then became part of Diablo Valley HS north of Orangevale where it remains today In 1943 President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated Fort Irwin National Military Reservation located adjacent to Camp Mills just east off I-15 about 8 miles outside Visalia which later became Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base .Today this complex houses much more than just military uses such as an airbase, artillery range & storage facility; also home to many recreational activities such as golf courses, horseback riding (& ATAI swimming pool), movie theater, etc By 1920 there were over 100 businesses operating out OFCampbell with retail sales totaling $1 million dollars yearling

Campbell is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California, about halfway between Fresno and Bakersfield. The population was 5,902 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from the Spanish wordcampo meaning "land" or "farm", since it once sat on a ranch that was given to Francisco Vasquez by the Rancho Cuchuma Indians. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Campbell were Mexican Missionaries who founded missions there in 1821. In 1846, United States soldiers burned down the mission buildings as part of an attempt to settle Californios east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. In 1847, John Waddell arrived with his brother-in-law Peter Costantini and family in what is now Campbell. They began cattle raising and found good water resources there for irrigation purposes. In 1861, they built Costantini's Mill which became one of the largest flour mills in California. The post office called Campbell "Canyon" until it changed its name to "Campbell" on November 12, 1912 after Jens Wilhelm Hansen donated land for a new school district north of town and renamed it Hansen School District #1 after him. On July 1st, 1916, Campbeal High School opened its doors following a merger of two local high schools: Canyon High School (founded 1913) and Northridge High School (founded 1912). The old Northridge building still stands today as part of Campbell's civic center complex!
Campbell was founded in 1881 by John Campbell and his wife, Angelina. The town originally consisted of only a few homes, but over time it grew to include a small school, grocery store, post office, hotel and several other businesses. In 1916 the town incorporated and became known as Campbell City. The population of Campbell peaked at around 5,000 during the 1920s and 1930s but gradually declined until its final census count in 1960 had just under 2,000 residents.
