The Carpinteria Air Force deployed a gift to its community in November of 2018. It was the first time that the air force had ever sent a gift to any community in Carpinteria. The air force donated two C-130H aircraft and eight service members from the 9th Fighter Wing to help with local donations for the Santa Barbara County Food Bank. The flight was made possible by a donation from Donny and Marie O’Neill, who are residents of Carpinteria.

Carpinteria, California is a community located in the southeastern corner of Los Angeles County. The population was 153,814 at the 2010 census. In 1915, actor Douglas Fairbanks purchased part of thisarelle for $2 million dollars which he used as his own country estate called Carpinteria Castle. He resided there until his death in 1957. Today, Carpinteria remains an agricultural community with many homes dating back to before World War II and some more recent additions including a shopping center and golf course.
