The AAF was responsible for Bomber Command and had the mission of bombing enemy targets in Japan. The first deployments of the AAF occurred during World War II when groups were sent to different parts of the world. The first deployment from Los Angeles took place on October 20, 1942 and involved 50 aircraft and over 1,000 personnel. This deployment helped change warfare because it allowed for air support to be brought into action where it was needed most. The Cold War escalated after Pearl Harbor and began with the Korean War which lasted from 1950-1953. America needed an air force that could intervene in any conflict without being drawn into a war that they didn’t want to fight. So, President Truman created the USAF on September 20, 1949 and activated it at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. With this new organization came new planes, technology and officers who would be able to handle these challenges head-on. After Korea there were two deployments to Vietnam; one in 1965 and another in 1969 which were both successful due to US aerial bombings campaign against North Vietnam called Operation Rolling Thunder (the Tet Offensive). These airstrikes caused extensive damage which forced North Vietnamese leader Kim Il Sung to call off his offensive plans months early due to lack of resources available. This event is often cited as one of the turning points in Vietnam because it demonstrated US resolve towards South Vietnam while also gaining important intelligence information about their military infrastructure that would later help us win the war overall!

In order to remember the contributions of the California Air National Guard, they have created a history of air force deployment gifts. The gift history begins with the creation of the California Air National Guard’s 1st Fighter Wing in 1959. This wing was formed as part ofOperation Crossroads and was tasked with providing fighter jets and flying training for new pilots. The wing continued its contributions to national security during World War II by providing strategic bombers, Such as the B-17 Flying Fortress, P-38 Lightning, and F4U Corsair. Additionally, during the Cold War years, the wing provided support for Operation Overlord by providing aerial refueling flights over Normandy. After World War II ended, it was decided that a new wing would be formed within the California Air National Guard to continue operations against terrorism. The second fighter wing was formed in 1966 and became known asthe 1st Tactical Fighter Wing (1TFW). The wing focused on flying advanced fighters such as Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcons and Boeing E-3 Sentry AWACS aircraft. It also flew missions in Afghanistan starting in 2001 before being disbanded in 2013.
Carson, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 143,819 at the 2010 census. It is the third-largest city in San Bernardino County and the largest in Riverside County after Riverside and Fullerton. Carson City is located on the eastern edge of San Bernardino County. The site of present-day Carson was first occupied by hunter-gatherers about 12,500 years ago. A smallpox epidemic in 1868 killed more than 60% of the city's population; however, over $1 million was raised to rebuild Carson City as it now stands. In 1994, Downtown Carson became a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with nearby Big Bear Lake and Big Valley Ranch National Monument. Carson has been home to elected officials since 1871 when General Grant appointed Mayor Wm Hite to serve out a six-month term following John Capper's resignation from office because he could not pay his salary (Hite had served as mayor for eight years before that). From 1879 until 1912 there were three mayors: Elisha Travers (1879–1883), George Pemberton (1889–1891), and Amos Johnson (1912–1920). On November 8th ballot in 1924 Proposition 5 was passed which granted African Americans voting rights within the city limits effective December 1st 1924 inclusive.; this change made Carson one of only two cities in Southern California without such restrictions at that time. On March 15th 1955 Pershing Avenue between Euclid Avenue & Ivar Jenson Boulevard opened as "Carson City Boulevard" after passage of resolution #5454 by then Mayor Tom Bradley; this designation lasted until May 14th 1967 when Resolution #5627 became effective and reverted back to "Euclid Avenue". In 1959 John Fenton assumed office as Mayor upon appointment by Governor Edmund G Brown Jr., who also directed county Supervisor Raymond Briggs to select Fenton for the position after hearing testimony from civic members disclosing irregularities connected with nominations for Councilmember Randy Whitehead against him during the previous year's election campaign due largely to Briggs' personal connections with Whitehead - an allegation denied by both Fenton and Briggs.Fenton served four terms before being succeeded by Don Russell on January 3rd 1974; Russell then served two terms before becoming Mayor Pro Tem under then Supervisor Linda Sanchez until her retirement on May 17th 1998 which terminatedptaementpursuanttotheCalifornia Constitution’s prohibition against “at will” dismissals of municipal employees without cause or notice Boothroyd v Board of Supervisors et al.. After retiring from politics Rowland Sweeny assumed office on October 8th 2000 serving until his inauguration on January 3rd 2003 which terminated his current term effective February 28th 2003 inclusive.). Sacramento Bee columnist Rick Stroude wrote about Rowland Sweeny's inauguration speech: Sweeny took office at a time when many people were unhappy about what appeared to be excessive government spending leading up to 9/11/2001...He pledged himself never again to make decisions based on political considerations but instead always based upon what would benefit Carson City residents." Today's economy makes it possible for businesses – including several large tech companies –and families like those of Rowland Sweeny and Rick Stroude who have worked hard all their lives here [in] downtown Carson City"

Carson, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,405 at the 2010 census. It is located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) north of Bakersfield and 10 miles (16 kilometers) east of Fresno. Carson was founded in 1887 by George E. Carson and his wife Cornelia A. Carson as a small wooden post office on the banks of the San Joaquin River. In 1915, it became part of the newly created Kern County. In February 1951, President Harry S Truman proposed that America's 50 states be divided into two halves with Carson as its eastern border. District 3 congressman Sam Rayburn quickly opposed the proposal and said that "Carson would become an open door for Communists." However, local officials decided to accept Truman's proposal without any changes and Carson became part of District 4 until it was dissolved in 1959 when it merged with other districts to form District 5. The community has had several name changes over the years: First established as "Hunsucker" after citizens who used to try to get water from nearby springs using dogs; then renamed "Saddleback" because cattle were once common inhabitants; then changed again to "Carson" due to confusion among family members about which settlement their ancestor had founded. The current name comes from George Emie Carson's daughter-in-law's maiden name which she chose for her father-in-law after hearing he had been given an initial offer for it from his brother-in-law during World War II while living in Japan
