The Army National Guard (ANG) is an infantry regiment of the United States Military. It was established as a cadet military academy in 1881. The ANG has been under the command of the Department of Defense since 1947, when it was organized as a standing army. The ANG is part of the United States armed forces and its mission is to provide manpower, equipment and support for national defense. On October 16th 1870 Anglophile Captain John Clements USNR who had served in Mexico City volunteered his unit at age 21 into Company K 2nd Battalion (Anglo-Mexican), 1st Artillery Regiment commanded by Colonel Augustus Pritchard FDNY while serving with Mexican Expeditionary Force fighting against American forces across America's southern border A bill was eventually signed into law on November 17th 1870 making California an official State with several exceptions including: anglophile Capt Clements' unit could not be mustered until he turned 21 years old instead they would have to wait until March 3rd 1871 when their enlistment would expire Captain Clements enlisted into Company K 2nd Battalion (Anglo-Mexican) & 1st Artillery Regiment on October 16th 1870 becoming one step closer towards fulfilling his dream of becoming a U.S. Marine . On November 17th 1870 Captain Clements successfully applied for membership into Marines Regimental Association which would later become known as The United States Marine Corps In 1875 after completed service with 2nd Battalion (Anglo-Mexican) & 1st Artillery Regiment he transferred to 4th battalion Californian Volunteers under Colonel Arthur Bliss CDN also becoming one step closer towards fulfilling his dream through marine affiliation however application failed due to lack funds Captain John Cook USNR who had also served with2nd Battalion(Anglo-Mexican) & 1st Artillery Regiment joined Company I 11th Infantry on December 12th 1875 just months before Christmas holidays during soon after Santa Ana siege where 5 Californian Volunteers lost their lives along side 507 soldiers from 3 other U Sarmies killed or wounded inside Mission Santa Ana Adobe Walls Siege Museum today In 1880 upon admission into University of California at Berkeley Captain Cook met future Lieutenant Colonel Edward Doherty USNR who then offered him a commission if he desired it but Cook declined because he wanted more money and status within navy than within university Now fully dedicated sailor Cook attended school full time while working his passage through Naval Academy graduating first class midshipman on June 10/1881 aboard USS Constitution which sailed from New York City September 25/1881 reaching San Francisco Bay September 29/1881 After two years less then two monthslong voyage Cook finally reached what he thought would be his final destination – San Diego Harbor whereupon Constitution decommissioned January 14/1882 having covered 825 milesduring her tour extending from Bostonport Maine August 9/1880 - January 14/1882 As captain USS Constitution's last commanding officer Cook received public appreciationlikely exceeding $10,000USD during her cruise leaving Portsmouth MA on Sept 25 1881 As captain USS Constitutioncompleting her 7 year tour Ending Sailormen honored with parade outside Navy Yard Philadelphia April 1865

There have been many places in the United States called " Cathedral City." The first such city was founded by Mormon missionaries in 1847, and it became the nucleus of what is now called Utah. In 1906, a group of Catholics organized a small town east of Sacramento, California, and named it after their bishopric in Rome. Cathedral City grew rapidly due to its location at the crossroads of two major routes: Route 66 from Chicago to Los Angeles and Route 91 from San Francisco to Reno. The city had an estimated population of 100,000 by 1930. The Great Depression led to declines in business activity throughout the region; however, Cathedral City held on until World War II when it began experiencing increased growth as a center for aircraft production. During that time, the city hosted conferences on international relations and defense issues as well as various international visitors including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Adolf Hitler. By 1960, Cathedral City's population had reached 350,000 people. However, during the Vietnam War certain sections of the city came under siege from Viet Cong forces while other sections remained largely ignored or unharmed by the hostilities; this ultimately led to a decrease in population over the next several decades. By 1990s some changes were beginning to take place within California's general housing market with increasing prices for single-family homes becoming increasingly unaffordable for most ordinary citizens; accordingly, many individuals left their homes and relocated elsewhere within California or into other states during this period. Eventually though – following rapid social movements initiated by millennials – Cathedral City experienced another boom period characterized by expansive new development projects which have since lead to significant loss of jobs and community decline (although efforts are currently underway to reverse these trends). Today much like when it first originated there is clear evidence that downtown areas such as Market Street (formerly Main Street) have become hubs for nightlife and arts programming while decreasing job opportunities near Interstate 5 outside of town limits generally leads residents away from seeking economic opportunity or expanding their knowledge base beyond those found within easy commuting distance; nonetheless despite all these challenges there are stillumerous residents who maintain close ties both with each other and with downtown through activities such as music festivals/concerts/dances/street fairs etc., entrepreneurship programs/myriad cultural organizations focusing on religious observance etc., amateur architecture competitions etc., providing unique perspectives onto local history even if they often feel removed from everyday life
The first European settlers in what is now Cathedral City were Spanish Franciscans who arrived in 1769. The town was founded on the site of an ancient Mayan mission and named for San Francisco, California. By 1851, the community had reached its peak with a population of around 100 people. However, by 1890, the city had shrunk to just 10 residents and by 1920 it had all but disappeared. But during World War II, Cathedral City played a significant role as a military base in California. More than 2,000 people from across the United States were stationed at the town during the war and many of them are buried here within the cemeteries that surround it today.
