The Coast Guard has been in operation in Chino Hills, California since 1923. It is one of the most visible and important organizations on the Bay Area waterfront. The Coast Guard Auxiliary provides many services to the community, including providing law enforcement and fire protection, performing education and outreach programs, and providing humanitarian assistance. The history of the Coast Guard Auxiliary begins with a donation by Mrs. Alice Ahern in 1923. Mrs. Ahern was a local real estate agent who donated land to the town of Chino Hills for an airport and other civic improvements. At that time, there were only two small airports in the area- one at Point Loma Airport and the other at Naval Air Station Miramar (now Loyola Marymount University). Mrs. Ahern saw that it would be impossible for either airport to handle all the traffic coming into or leaving Chino Hills, so she donated $5,000 towards building an airport specifically for the Coast Guard Auxiliary! In 1951, when Chino Hills became a city, its first mayor gave his permission to establish a City Police Department which would house both the police department for City government operations as well as provide law enforcement for special events such as parades or funerals. This allowed for more efficient coordination between various agencies within city government- something that was not possible when individual agencies had their own police departments! In addition to its policing responsibilities,the City Police Department also provided emergency response service through volunteer firefighters during fires or other emergencies. Volunteer firefighters continue to play an important role inChINO HILLS CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT today! Throughout its history,the Coast Guard Auxiliary has played an essential role in helping keep our community safe by providing law enforcement and fire protection; conducting education programs; providing humanitarian assistance; and donating land or resources to help improve our environment or support our mission! Chino Hills is a small town located in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 30,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greater LA area. The first permanent settler in Chino Hills was John Coolidge in 1885. He and his wife, Cornelia (née Armitage), founded a small ranch on what is now east-central Chino Hills. They named their new community after their home state of Vermont, where they belonged to a Congregational church that moved from its original location in Danville to Chino Hills in 1891. In 1907, the Coolidges donated land for the first campus of UCLA. The schools were then known as Western Branch High School and Southern Branch High School before becoming UCLA Bruins football and baseball teams respectively in 1912. In 1923, Chino Hills became an incorporated city when it merged with nearby Brentwood – one of the most populous cities within Los Angeles County at that time – forming what is today known as Downtown Los Angeles annexed by Chino Hills as part of its annexation process for that city's growth during the 1920s and 1930s.Today, downtown Los Angeles proper and parts of Echo Park, Hermosa Beach and Lynwood are all part of Chino Hills while other neighborhoods such as North Hollywood (named after Hollywood Boulevard which runs through Beverly Glen Canyon) and Lakeview have been incorporate into Downtown Los Angeles over time without ever having had their own independent city status or incorporation. However much has changed since then; some notable landmarks located within Downtown Los Angeles include Regent's Park (the largest parkland within Downtown LA), Staples Center/ Maxell Arena/LA Live Coliseum (the second largest sports venue in North America after Fenway Park), USC Trojans football games played at Raymond James Stadium/University Hospital until 2019*, Angelenos can now be found shopping center shopping malls like Sky Harbor Airport airport terminals 3A-3E* (* previously only available to locals*) - giving residents close access to international airports outside of our jurisdiction but still within easy driving distance - although much more recent development has taken place near El Segundo’s beaches: two large mixed-use developments called “Chinatown East” directly across from Sepulveda Boulevard--an attractive destination for those who care about quality life--and soon to come another major mixed-use development called “Chinatown West” adjacent to Interstate 5 with plans for high-end office space above ground parking garage levels—all adding up to make this once sleepy corner of northern El Segundo a lively commercial district with plenty going on even on days when there are no shoppers present† [* NOTE: These developments may change or disappear entirely depending on various factors*****] . * From 2003 until recently, UCLA hosted both American college basketball championships games which took place at Rose Bowl stadium between 2002 and 2004; tickets went on sale four months ahead of time so there wasn't any need for pre-sale tickets *****. Referring back to our earlier discussion about how chinese immigrants have transformed Southern California over many decades...one would assume that Japanese Immigrants would also play an important role in this transformation if not outright dominance given LACMA’s proximity; however…chinas importance seems relatively muted when compared to other groups such as Koreans or Filipinos… nevertheless their presence nonetheless cannot be discounted*****. While Chinese restaurants continue dominate Chinese Buffet restaurants throughout Southern California due largely to immigration laws preventing Asians only businesses from operating west side of Crenshaw Blvd.,* Filipino restaurants have become increasingly popular due primarily to better transportation options available south side near Century City hotels* [*NOTE: These Restaurants may also change or disappear entirely depending on various factors*****] . 1) Chinatown East currently contains three large concentrations OF CHINESE RESTAURANTS including Sichuan Bistro & Garden which opened in 2009 adjacent TO PEPPERMINT MILE HIGHWAY; Chow Mein King restaurant alsoopened adjacent TO PEPPERMINT MILE HIGHWAY 2) Chinatown West currently contains two large concentrations OF CHINESE RESTAURANTS including Dragon Wing Wonton Soup restaurant opened along I5 just north Of Harbor Freeway 3) Japanese American Citizens League offices used To Be Located In Exterior Walls Of old Russian Hill Baptist Church 4) Metro Station: Chavez Ravine Blvd./Stevenson Ranch Rd.-just north Of Hwy 210

Chino Hills is located in the San Joaquin Valley of California, and has been inhabited by the same people for at least 10,000 years. The area was first populated by local Native Americans who hunted and gathered plants and animals. After European exploration arrived in the area, there were various treaties negotiated between various groups of people. The first white person to set foot in Chino Hills was Captain George Fenton in 1839. A group of soldiers under his command discovered gold veins near Chino Hills in 1848, which led to a period of excitement and investment in the town. By 1865, however, most of the gold had been mined out and Chino Hills became a farming community with few commercial ventures until it became an important military post during World War II. In 1945, after Japan's surrender, Chino Hills came under American control as part of the United States Military Occupation Zone (Mozambique). It continued to serve as an garrison until 1975 when it reverted back to Mexican control. Since then, much progress has been made to make Chino Hills into a more vibrant community with many cultural attractions such as an arts museum and traditional dance performances occurring each year.
