In 1916, Bob’s Coffee Shop became one of the first roasters in the area and continues to serve up quality coffee to this day. It wasn’t until the late 1920s that cafés started opening up throughout Chino Hills, making it one of the most populous areas for coffee consumption in Southern California. In 1949, Bob’s Coffee Shop was moved from its original location on Elm Street to its current location on Stevenson Boulevard which has been their home since then. Chino Hills is a city in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. The population was 108,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pasadena-East Los Angeles metropolitan area. The first people to live in what is now Chino Hills were the Tongva Indians who populated present-day central and southern Chavez Ravine from about 2,000 BC to 1700 AD. They were followed by Anglo settlers from Spain in 1776 and 1800. By 1850, there were over 60 families living here and 50 jobs available for farmworkers. In 1887, landowner Julius Rosenwald donated 640 acres (248 hectares) of rolling hills lying east of Chino Creek for a new town called Chino Hills; it was named after him and his wife Charlotte Chandler. The town grew slowly until it exploded during World War II with an influx of Japanese Americans because much of their land had been seized by American military authorities as part of the internment effort following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The war led to a massive infusion of cash into Chino Hills which saw construction begin on numerous large factories including those used in production of Boeing aircrafts and other war-time essentials like ammunition drums and tanks. Once hostilities ended, many businesses closed or merged while others continued to prosper due to post-war demand for goods produced by these plants such as shoes, jeans and other clothing products made from natural materials like cotton instead of petroleum products that contributed significantly to world wars I & II

Chino Hills is a city in Alameda County, California, United States. The population was 69,391 at the 2010 census. Chino Hills is part of the San Francisco Bay Area. It lies along the eastern edge of San Fernando Valley and borders Los Angeles to its north and east, Menlo Park to its south and west, and Arroyo Seco to its northwest. The first people to live in what is now Chino Hills were stagecoaches travelling between Stockton and Sacramento. By 1851, English-born John Sutter had founded Sutter's Land Company in Colusa County and began acquiring land hereabouts for Rancho La Brea. In 1853 Sutter sold his holdings in Chino Hills to George Yerxa, Sr., founder of the East Side Cotton Mill in Los Angeles. In 1861 the area became part of Farmington District when it was organized as one of twenty-four districts within Alameda County. The following year incorporation took place with City Hall located on Main Street between First Avenue (now Redwood Road) and Second Avenue (now University Boulevard). At that time there were only 60 residents living here; however by 1870 this had increased to 108 with an addition of two smallpox cemeteries – Spring Grove Cemetery near present day Healdsburg Civic Center and Mount Hope Cemetery on Topanga Canyon Rd just east of Interstate 5 near Paramount Studios). In 1908 Chino Hills annexed portions of unincorporated Encinitas; this annexation resulted from a lawsuit brought by Mrs. Anna Bogan against her husband Irving Bogan over control of a small piece of their property known as Gables which bordered on Encinitas Coastline Naval Air Station (the former Homeport Museum/Naval Air Station Santa Ana). Mrs. Anna Bogan lost her case but her husband did not follow through with his threat not to annex until he could have full title thereto.) A fire destroyed most downtown business on December 15th 1906 while Christmas shoppers were inside merchants closed up their stores until January 7th 1907 due largely to the fact that insurance rates for fires had skyrocketed becauseof related occurrence at Hollywood Freeway & Vineyard Road intersection during 1906-1907 crude oil rig fire which caused major damage also disabling several blocks off Vineyard road intersecting Hollywood Blvd & 101st St
The city of Chino Hills, California was founded in 1885 by James W. Haughton and his family. The city grew rapidly due to its location on the San Gabriel River, and in 1907 it became a charter member of the City of Los Angeles. In 1943, Chino Hills was placed within the newly created County of Claremont. On January 1, 1954, Chino Hills was annexed by the City of Los Angeles
