Military gift history in Chino Hills, California stretches back to the early 1800s when a small detachment of United States cavalrymen stationed at Chino Valley Barracks furnished presents for officers and their families. In 1868, Major General George Armstrong Custer presented his regiment's colonel with a rifle and an automatic pistol. The Santa Anita Race Course was also the site of a large military parade on December 5th, 1887 which included the review by Captain John Sutter's California Infantry. On July 4th, 1911, Mrs. Alice Barbour donated four rifles and pistols to the Chino Hills Rifle Club. On October 17th of that year, Mrs. Maynard Ladd gave her home at 7951 North Dorsey Avenue to the Chino Hills Rifle Club for use as an Arsenal. On November 8th 1916 during World War I (1914-18), Mrs. Clara Barton delivered two hundred rifles and shotguns to Camp Roberts in San Bernardino County where they were stored until acquired by the U.S Army in 1921. Between 1923 and 1941,Mrs Gertrude Hinkle donated over one hundred military gifts (primarily pistols) from her personal collection to various gun clubs throughout Central California including Chino Hills Rifle Club dept., Atwater Air Force Base Gunnery Sgt., Naval Air Station Stockton Gunnery Sgt., etc.. During World War II (1941-1945),Chino Hills Rifles Club contributed 1,500 rifles and shotguns pursuant to the Second Empire Defense Act to help arm American forces overseas against Japan during World War II On October 1st 1948 through February 2nd 1949 local residents of Chinosville organized what is considered today's first annual Christmas Party in honor of United States servicemen who had served in Korea or Vietnam during that year's war efforts - more than 400 individuals attended this party sponsored by members of both local organizations including 506 rifle clubs across America which participated in decorating trees along routes leading into town from surrounding agricultural areas Since its inception as a civilian firearms club on December 10th 1920 (just prior to incorporation as "The Chino Hills Rifle Association" on January 3rd 1921), Chino Hills NRA has been continuously serving its community by promoting responsible firearm ownership and function; gathering information about current arms laws; hosting recreational target shooting events; providing training opportunities for members both novice and experienced alike; aiding post traumatic stress disorder research & treatment; honoring fallen service members with special event nights each year culminating with a holiday parade down First Street near City Hall It is needless to say that military gift history within this community is richly intertwined with our city's long history dating back more than 100 years!

However, following the end of World War II, growth slowed as oil prices crashed and manufacturing moved out of Southern California into Texas and other states periphery to rebound following the boom times in those states during that time period. The current incarnation of Chino Hills began to form after developers bought land at various intersections between Hunter Road (now Interstate 5) and Pico Boulevard in 1924 when it became clear that a new community could be developed without having to go through most of downtown Los Angeles which had been destroyed during war efforts such as burning down homes and destruction of businesses along I-5 corridor northward from downtown LA towards Pasadena Airport In recent years much focus has been placed on developing downtown Chino Hills with mixed use development such as office space or residential towers while also continuing work on planned transit stops serving both south side neighborhoods adjacent to Downtown CHINO HILLS (Sector 8) AND north side neighborhoods adjacent TO NORTHRIDGE DISTRICT (Sector 9). In addition redevelopment has taken place along Valencia Street which leads eastward into Downtown CHINO HILLS from South Side Neighborhoods adjoining VALENCIA STREET (Sector 1), culminating with an Arts District redevelopment project consisting of high rise buildings including an opera house/theater complex called Regency Ballroom currently located just south OF VALENCIA Streeet & east OF Crenshaw Blvd., making it one of largest arts districts in Southern California
Chino Hills is a city in Marin County, California, United States. The population was 23,902 at the 2010 census. Chino Hills is part of the San Francisco Bay Area and is adjacent to San Rafael and El Sobrante counties. The original land for Chino Hills was acquired in 1887 by George Eastman from Jesse Livermore for $2,000 (). In 1926, the city of San Francisco annexed parts of east Marin County (including Chino Hills) to form a new city called North Beach. In 1934, when North Beach merged with Berkeley, most of what now makes up Chino Hills became part of Berkeley. The first post office in Chino Hills was established on October 15, 1887. It served the community until 1916 when it moved to nearby Menlo Park. In 1927, Jock Mahoney set up his own printing business in what is now known as the Mahoney Building on Old School Road near golf course Rd #1 (now Hearst Avenue). Jock Mahoney would later become one of America's most successful newspaper publishers and continue his print business into the 21st century. In 1932–1933, Edward "Ed" Hecht began building a home on information technology land north-west of town along Interstate 80 between Highway 101 and Highway 518 which he named Hecht House after himself and his father-in-law Dr Bernhard Hecht who had donated much money towards its construction. The home would become Hecht Place before it was sold to Henry Kaiser in 1979 and renamed Kaiser Place after him in 1984. shortly thereafter it went through several additional name changes including King Plaza until finally being given its current name – Chino Hills City Hall in 1990s when City Council decided that it should be more consistent throughout its various incarnations).
