After making three more movies there between 1915 and 1919 (including one with Buster Keaton), Chaplin moved to Hollywood in1920 and became a star of the silent movie era there. He returned to Chino Hills for two years during World War II as a matter-of-fact actor performing stock footage from military training films at the local airbase called Oceanside Airport (). After World War II ended, many Hollywood stars decided to retire or move back east where they could live among their own people again unlike those who had left behind them behind when film production stopped being an industry overnight due technological advances like sound technology which completely revolutionized motion pictures. In 1957 Dick Van Dyke moved back into Chino Hills after living in Pacific Palisades for twenty years while doing television commercials for Ford Motor Company(). In 1976 Mayor Donny Youngblood brought all public services within walking distance of each other together with new City Hall built adjacent to then existing high school which served as both public square and city hall until it burned down in 1978; this event has been memorialized by naming streets around City Hall thereafter such as Donny Way (now Doheny Avenue). On October 15th 2003 Charles Manson committed suicide by shooting himself inside prison's Belvedere Maximum Security Institution near Redlands CA
