Citrus Heights, California is a community located in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 9,554 as of the 2010 census. Citrus Heights is located on the eastern edge of the City of Riverside and is bordered by Lake Arrowhead to the north, Indian Wells Hills to the east and south, and Menifee Canyon to the west. It is also bordered by Fontana to its southeast andsouthwest, providing a frontage on Interstate 10 that separates it from neighboring cities like Riverside and Palm Springs. The city was founded in 1907 as part of what was then known as East Riverside Township. In 1923 it became Citrus Heights; it was named for citrus trees that were grown in the town site. The first post office opened in 1907. The citadellike structure now known as City Hall was completed in 1928 and has served as both a municipal building and county courthouse since then. The military deployment history associated with Citrus Heights began with World War II when portions of southern San Bernardino County were annexed into Los Angeles County during that war. Postwar growth throughout Southern California necessitated an increased demand for land, which led to new subdivisions being developed around Montebello (now Mira Mesa), Murrieta (now Northridge), Arcadia (now Ardsley), Hesperia (now Villa Park) and other areas within Citrus Heights proper boundaries. When those subdivisions were filled with people who had no connection whatsoever to or knowledge of military service within said communities but simply happened to live there because they owned property adjacent thereto or because their parents did so before them, servicemen residing therein often found themselves at odds with civilian inhabitants over matters such as streetlights being turned off at night or parking lot availability on Sundays morning only for servicemen's use! Eventually some degreeof understanding would be established between servicemen/women occupyingcitrus heights homes during wartime - typically through social activities organized by their wives/ girlfriends - though further conflict still existed from time-to-time due primarily to differences in education level among civilians living nearby who either could not read or did not understand military jargon! With its mixture of late-19th century architecture with modern amenities and streetcars running through it, downtown became one of Orange County's fastest-growing areas during that time frame. Today's center contains many iconic buildings such as City Hall (built in 1916), State Street Plaza (opened in 1957), Irvine Spectrum Center (opened in 1968), Downtown Disney - now part of Walt Disney World - and other notable landmarks.

Citrus Heights is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 36,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the downtown San Bernardino area and lies on the east bank of the San Gabriel River. citrus heights began as an agricultural community located in what is now Citrus Heights and parts of neighboring Unincorporated Orange County. The first citrus trees were planted by Spanish settlers in 1795 during their attempt to cross the river from Mission Viejo to Santa Ana. The town name comes from two references: One was to a height of oranges that could be seen from Los Angeles; another referred to local oranges being "high enough for people to reach" (this may have been why they were called "citrus Heights"). In 1887, when William Harkness built his citrus orchard north of present-day Citrus Heights Boulevard, he named it Harkness Orchard after his father-in-law, Colonel Arthur Harkness. This was also when citrus production began moving away from wild grapefruit and towards more domesticated varieties like tangerines and lemons. In 1915 J.P. Morgan purchased land adjacent to present day Citrus Heights Boulevard for $1 million dollars which became his private golf course known today as Morgan Golf Course (formerly Pacific Palisades Country Club). He used some of this land for housing development called Palmer Avenue Gardens while living in exile during World War I with his wife Dorothy Drake Morgan but they returned home before World War II started and resumed their lives there until her death in 1961. After her death he continued living there until his death in 1967 becoming one of only 2 men everto live continuously outside Of America without dying there
