It is located on the east side of the San Andreas Fault and is bounded by Anaheim to the north, Fullerton to the east, and Buena Park to the south. The name "Citrus Heights" comes from citrus trees that were grown there in the early 20th century. The first coffee shops opened in Citrus Heights during World War II. They sold coffee prepared by local servicemen who served in Europe. By 1948, there were 10 coffee shops in Citrus Heights serving customers from nearby Fullerton and Anaheim. In 1957, Stanley Aronson opened his first gourmet café called "Aronson's", which became one of Orange County's most popular tourist attractions. From its inception through the 1970s, Aronson's offered a wide variety of coffees including light French roast (variety), dark roasted beans (variety), cortados (6-8 ounces), macchiatos (4-6 ounces),sports drinks (orange or grapefruit juice with sugar/milk), pastries such as croissants and bagels with cream cheese buttercream icing, and ice creams such as cherry Garcia brand ice cream or mint chocolate chip ice cream. In 1984 Aronson's closed its doors for good after more than 50 years of providing quality cup of Joe service to Citrus Heights residents and visitors alike. However, nostalgia for what was once Aronson’s will not be silenced: since 1994 many individuals have continued to operate secondhand businesses under this name selling all manner of gourmet coffee products sourced direct from cafes throughout North America

The original owner of the land that would become Citrus Heights were citrus farmers who named their property after the fruit they grew. In 1893, an act by then-Governor James Irvine called for a survey to be made of all school districts in Southern California and Citrus Heights was included in that survey. In 1967, Citrus Heights became one of twelve cities within the newly formed City of Los Angeles metropolitan area. Today it still falls within that metropolitan area but its own independent government exists with its own budget and Mayor/Council members elected through districting instead of at-large like most other cities in LA Metro. The city's population growth has been primarily due to annexation by adjacent municipalities as well as increased auto traffic on Interstate 5 which passes through its boundaries (particularly around downtown). However, some recent development activity has taken place around Villa Park Drive near Interstate 995 and Apple Valley Road northeast of downtown; these areas will soon see significant growth thanks to planned expansions by both businesses and residents who hope to create new jobs and improve access to education and medical services nearby. One unique aspect about Citrus Heights is that there are no limits on how many homes or units developers may build on any given block - so much so that some blocks have seen over 100 buildings erected since 2000 alone! Citrus Heights is a census-designated place in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 9,587 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside metropolitan area. Citrus Heights is located on 190th Street east of Interstate 10 and south of San Bernardino City Limits. The first citrus trees were planted in 1884 by Captain Henry Axton and his wife Margaret Hillinger Axton on land that now includes much of Citrus Heights. In 1896, Captain Charles Fenton bought 5 acres (20,000 m2) adjacent to what are now Pinecrest Drive and 180th Street from Odd Fellows brother James Worthy. In 1932, Capt. Harry Pritchard purchased additional property adjoining 180th Street from Capt Charles Fenton to form the current site of Citrus Heights where he built a home called "Pinecrest". In 1916, Mrs Lillie Hargrave opened her own grocery store in what is now the business park across from The Elks Lodge #326 on North 180th Street from Capt Charlie Fenton's home which she had bought in 1912 when he moved to citrus farming with his family after selling his movie theater interests. Mrs Hargrave was one of several early female entrepreneurs who opened businesses successively in citrus heights during this time period including: Mabel Browning (1915), Anna Kosminsky (1920), Jessie Goodwin (1924) et al... . Prior to 1920 many citrus groves were small family operations such as those operated by Capt Charlie Fenton and his father Rev John Pritchard.. By 1930 there were over 100 groves growing oranges and Lemons in citruse heights with 1/3 acre holdings being typical at this time It was not until 1945 that Enrico Caruso opened what would become known as "Caruso's" restaurant at 4120 S Elmira Road which became an important tourist attraction forcitrus heights residents and visitors alike due to its unique architecture along with its excellent food.. Caruso's would be operational until 1984 when it closed after having been sold multiple times.. In 1949, Dr Jurgen Becker founded "Becker Dairy" on land adjacent to South 180th Street between Weldon Road and Moorpark Boulevard also within city limits which became one of the largest dairy farms in Southern California.. Becker would serve as its general manager untilhis death in 1980 .. Today most people know about Becker Dairy due to their popular softball team who play their home games at Becker Stadium...
