Clearlake is a city in San Francisco County, California. It is the seat of San Francisco and was founded on April 20, 1853 as a small ranch town by Anglo-Americans. On May 15th Commodore John Denny's ship Fosterswain landed his Marines at Monterey for duty on Point Reyes Station during national defense against Mexican attacks along the southern coast; but no attack took place On July 21st George Washingtons Navy vessel USS Constitution anchored off Point Reyes station after capturing Mexican luger Jose de la Cruz that had been sailing between Monterey and Mexico City laden with goods destined for Tehuacan in central Mexico USS Constitution manned by United States Marines fires upon Mexican schooner called La Concordia while she was moored at Monterey Harbor on September 2nd 1849 while attempting to discharge cargo needed to support American forces engaged in this year's war with Mexico Captain David Montgomery surrendered his ship Santa Fe to USS Constitution near Vallejo Harbor on October 16th 1850 A large quantity of arms, ammunition and other supplies were landed here during these years

Clearlake is a small town in San Bernardino County, California, United States. It was founded by pioneers in 1871 as Clearlake City. The name comes from the Spanish word "clara," meaning clear or white. Clearlake is located on the banks of the San Gabriel River and is adjacent to Edwards Air Force Base. The population was 20,003 at the 2010 census. The first community in Clearlake was founded by prospectors named George Atherton and John Madden on May 10, 1871, east of present-day Clearlake City on what is now Black Valley Road. By 1872 there were several other settlements nearby including Fullerton and Panorama City. On December 5, 1872, William Hays chose Clearlake as his permanent homebase for military operations in the Angeles National Forest during the American Civil War. In 1865 a post office called Clear Lake had been established at fulling place south of present-day Fullerton; it would close in 1904 after only six months of operation due to low mail demand from residents within easy reach of Los Angeles city limits - an event that today marks the end of its history as a postal station within clear Lake boundaries (it reopened under new lettering about two miles east of its original site). In 1903 local citizens organized themselves into a fire department which became known as "The Citizens' Fire Department" with James Ewing serving as first chief officer. With rapid growth throughout those early years there were need for more than just an earthworks watchtower to keep an eye on things around town – so a schoolhouse/ firefighter’s training center was built adjoining First Baptist Church in 1901 which remains one of downtown's most iconic landmarks today! In 1907 through donation land from Harry Laughlin and others donated by MrsLaughlin they constructed what became known municipally owned Waterfront Park across from Harker Auditorium on Main Street – still one of downtown's most popular tourist destinations today! Just off main street near where Broadway meets Geary Boulevard stands Today's Republic Services building designed by architect Alfred Drake Kerr – one half century ago this week – part of what once served as “Wakefield Stores” now operates as One Stop Pharmacy! In 1932 Mayor Frank Briggs appointed Richard Muhlenberg to be headmaster/chief teacher at Claremont School District #2 following severe cuts made by then Superintendent Lionel Lyonsbaugh at that district’s namesake public high school –Clearlake High School (now Claremont Academy) – resulting in enrollment declines throughout much Southern California during that decade despite numerous offers for replacement schools from various areas including Northridge and Irwindale! That same year saw passage (by both houses) of State Assembly Bill No. 927 legalizing gambling within sixty miles OF any municipality with over 1,000 inhabitants; such action effectively ended any potential competition for resident tax dollars between municipalities located closer to major metropolitan areas hell bent on gaining greater gambling revenue! Eventually leading to establishment(s) even farther away along I-5 albeit with similar population totals…) such communities include West Hollywood (then Playa del Rey), Carson City Nevada Springs Reno Alamos Rancho Viejo Cathedral City Peninsula Office Tower La Jolla Village Center Huntington Beach
