Clearlake, California is a small town in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County, California. The population was 17,060 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area. The first coffee shop in Clearlake was opened in 1916 by Mrs. Florence Hirschhorn and her husband, Harry Hirschhorn. In 1938, Mr. and Mrs. John Hill opened their own coffee house called The Coffee House which served coffee from a small batch of beans that they roasted themselves. In 1952, Donnybrook Coffee Company was established in Clearlake with three roasters: Donnybrook Roasters (now J&J Coffee), Breakfast Blend (now Dunkin' Donuts), and Turkish Delight (now Starbucks). In 1984-85, Donnybrook produced its first large batch of coffee for grocery stores statewide under the name " bulk_coffee" In 1990-1991 Albertsons vacated their building on Lankershim Boulevard and developed an additional floor of their store on North First Street which housed their new bulk coffee production capabilities called "Albertsons Bazaar". This bulding represented a significant change for Clearlake as it became home to one of the largest retail daylight cafes in Southern California as well as world renowned specialty roaster Albertsons Corporation's baking operations - providing what critics considered to be some of the best cupcakes around On December 8th 1998 - 10 years after opening - The Coffee House closed its doors due to financial difficulties brought on by increased competition from more modern venues such as chain restaurants and fast food franchises

In recent years, Clearlake has become a popular tourist destination for those visiting Los Angeles or Ventura County because of its beautiful scenery and attractions such as activities such as swimming in Lake Arrowhead or mountain biking on clear blue waters within walking distance of downtown. As well, there are various business opportunities available near downtown including restaurants and small businesses that have opened up since 2003 when City Council unanimously voted to make Downtown an open space accessible to all residents without discrimination. Clearlake's rich history is reflected throughout its streetscape with many listed buildings from early pioneers days through current times - some dating back more than 100 years! Some notable landmarks include: The Masonic Temple (1854), Court House Annex (1925), First Methodist Episcopal Church (1892), Amador Hotel & Casino Resort (1996) - now home to numerous hotel rooms used by tourists during Angelenos' summertime season!
