In 1886, Frédéric Bastiat published his book "The Theory of lacircular organizations" which introduced the idea of a market economy in which producers must sell their products to consumers in order to generate income. This theory would later be implemented by Karl Marx in his work "Capital." In 1912, Kofi Annan created the World Health Organization (WHO) out of an attempt to improve public health across all “developing” countries. WHO’s first goal was “to prevent any one people from becoming sick because of another people’s lack of food…to promote social and economic development throughout all parts of the world so that everyone may have an opportunity to lead a healthy life free from fear and able to secure basic needs like water and shelter” This concept would later be implemented by The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). By 1925, gourmet coffee had become widely known throughout America and Europe. Gourmet Coffee Company opened its first store in San Francisco in 1925. Over time, GOC became one of the most respected names in premium coffee production

The first gourmet coffee shop in Commerce, California was The Gourmet Coffee Shop at 555 N. First St., opened in 1984 by owner and operator Rick Dutton. In 1990, the business moved to 608 Sutter Street and changed its name to The Gourmet Coffee Company. In 1995, the company relocated back to 555 N. First St., where it remains today. When the United States gained its independence from Great Britain in 1776, it had a rich and diverse history. The area now known as California was part of Spanish America before becoming American territory. The first European to arrive in what is now California was Pedro Fages, who explored the region in 1542. In 1821, Mexico started making land claims to the California Coast Range, which included present-day San Francisco Bay Area. In 1848, the United States acquired Nevada from Russia for $5 million dollars in what is now known as the “Compromise of 1850”. With this acquisition, California became a part of the United States and lost its Mexican government status. However, because of its large agricultural sector and strategic location between Oregon and Nevada, California became an important center of American commerce and culture during this time period. During this time period, many businesses were established in what is now Silicon Valley including Apple Inc., Google Inc., Intel Corporation and Facebook LLC. As technology increased and new markets were opened up such as China and Brazil*, Californian businesses grew increasingly involved in these industries. Additionally,Californians played an important role in helping create both the American economy and our political system* During this time period there was also significant growth within trade unions* which helped further strengthen Californian industry*. Since becoming a state in 1850*, Califor nia has undergone several transformation processes including rapid population growth; large influxes of other cultures; waves of immigration; various natural disasters (the 1906 earthquake alone caused over $100 million worth damage); major re-organizations (1946-1957), most notably when Govt amalgamated all Los Angeles County into one entity under one administration†; numerous dot-com booms†; recent dramatic changes with respect to housing prices¶ Such changes have led to ongoing debate about how well Californian society has done since 1959™ (*excluding subtractions for specific wars or Hurrican Katrina*) .
In the early 1800s, Commerce was a small town in California's Central Valley. It was an agricultural center and there were few businesses other than farmers and traders. The town developed around Mission San Francisco de Asís, which was founded in 1776 by Franciscan missionaries. In 1851, the town passed through a period of rapid growth when it became the terminus of the California Gold Rush. By 1857, Commerce had become a full-fledged city with over 10,000 people. The city experienced another growth period during World War II as the war brought new businesses and workers to the area. Afterward, Commerce declined until it officially disappeared from history in the mid-1960s when its boundaries were changed to include parts of downtown Fresno.
