The Coast Guard has been in operation in Concord, California for over 120 years. It began as a humble group of men and women who patrolled the coast to protect shipping and maritime interests. In 2006-2007 Captain Michael J Hickey led a major overhaul of Coastal Security Squadron One which eliminated outdated equipment and replaced it with state-of-the-art technology including radar and sonar systems along with new watercraft like Rescue Boat No 1 (RBO1) which can help direct{{}}searching missions{{}}for lost or stranded vessels{{}}and {{ }}for illicit drug traffickers{{}}along California’s North Central coast; this project also accomplished another goal - saving lives at sea during storm surges caused by winter weather conditions; finally, Bob Wexler succeeded Captains Harry Wessels and Michael J Hickey as captain in 2007 and continues their legacy of safety conscious coastal security patrols throughout Concord Bayou watershed.} There are three primary functions performed by members of the Coast Guard: Search And Rescue (SAR), Law Enforcement (LE), & Environmental Conservation (EC). SAR provides emergency medical services to victims after accidents or disasters such as fires or boat collisions offshore; Law Enforcement responds to complaints from local residents about lawless behavior onshore; while EC controls human resources necessary for beach cleanups & other environmental tasks such as keeping public access safe from debris storms during winter months
