Corcoran, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 33,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greater Los Angeles Area and is adjacent to Riverside and Orange counties. The first Europeans to visit what is now Corcoran were Spanish settlers in 1769. In 1821, William Fenton bought 1/2 of Rancho Cucamonga from Juan Bautista Alcalá for $22 per acre (1/6th of an mile²). At that time it was one of the most important ranchos in Southern California because it lay between Pasadena and Temecula on the Central Valley floor near where modern-day Pomona lies. The town began as a small farming community with about 100 residents in 1850. A post office was established at Corcoran in 1853, and by 1860 there were 10 buildings and 40 residents. The first school opened in 1858. By 1870, there were 170 residents and 12 schools; by 1880 only three remained open but many more had been built since then due to rapid growth around coronado Dam which formed the centerpiece of downtown Coronado’s water supply system. In 1911, during World War I General John J Pershing called for all American troops to be quartered near Corona because its location would make it easy for them to move into if necessary “in case any hostile forces should enter our country without warning us” Corona became home to 3rd Infantry Regiment headquarters while they trained at Camp Roberts outside Lancaster – later moving eastward into Henningen Wooded Park before being relieved by 14th Infantry Regiment on November 8 1918 when they entered Germany after becoming part of the US Army Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force (). The site has been variously used as a housing development or military stockpile ever since including during Operation Desert Storm when nearby Tanf Barracks served as airfields for fighter aircraft used against Iraqi targets south of Kuwait City

On October 11, 1876, the county became a part of the new United States as a result of the Mexican-American War. Between 1883 and 1920, it was also the home to San Francisco's first bleacher seating area for baseball games. In 1932, when Santa Clara County was formed from parts of Contra Costa and Marin counties, Corcoran became its sole county seat. In 1984, however, that distinction went to San Mateo County because portions of Santa Clara were annexed into that county. The economy of Corcoran has been based largely on agriculture with some small manufacturing sectors such as plastics production and printing services. The population peaked at over 100,000 in 1930 but has gradually declined since then due to various factors including suburbanization and loss of agricultural land to development. Today, the population is around 507 people.
