On November 15th, 1957 Headquarters USAF activated AIRC with headquarters responsibility for all AF activity within NASA including research programs associated with defence aerospace technologies such as missile development/test programmes etcetera.. As part of its activation ceremonies AIRC changed its name once again to John F Kennedy Space Centre or JFSOC when President John F Kennedy assumed office on January 20th 1969.. In 1992 NASA renamed JFSOC again - Johnson Space Center - following space shuttle program termination..
Covina, California is a city in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 51,813 at the 2010 census. Covina is located on the eastern edge of San Bernardino and is bordered by Riverside to the east and west, and Cathedral City to the north. The Covina area has been inhabited for over 10,000 years. The first permanent settler in Covina was James Irvine who arrived in 1847. Irvine built a rancho on what is now Spring Valley Avenue in 1851-52. It was later renamed Irvine Ranch after him and it remains one of the most important agricultural regions in Southern California today. In 1903, Jens Jensen purchased land here from William Randolph Hearst for $2 million dollars which he then subdivided into tracts for development purposes. Hearst donated additional property to Covina as well as many of his personal belongings including furniture, art objects, books and other items that were used during his time here starting with his summer home at Palm Springs Airport until his death in 1951. Today’s Covina began to grow rapidly due to its location within a few miles of two major railroad hubs – Los Angeles Union Station and Pasadena Junction Railroad Depot – as well as access to Interstate 5 which led county farmers to new markets across the state while also providing easy access to central Southern California through points like Orange County or Anaheim Hills. As early as 1907, Covina had become an incorporated town with a population of around 100 people. Today’s city has grown significantly since its incorporation; adding nearly 20 square miles (50 km2) over the past twenty years alone! The downtown core contains several significant historical landmarks such as The old Town Hall building housing both municipal services (police/fire protection), water supply & waste management operations (the original municipally owned recycling plant still stands today adjacent to Main Street), post office & courthouse building dating back to 1908 which are now considered part of local history museum district; numerous businesses have been erected along Main Street over time such as Sam's Club Headquarters Plaza went up onsite in 2001 adjacent First National Bank Building - one of America's largest open-air shopping malls - Stroud Foods Incorporation History Museum opened their doors nearby inside former Pohlman Chevrolet dealership circa 1984; large mixed use project known locally simply as "CovINA" spans approximately 3 blocks (~900 meter²) northwest corner Of Main Street between 2nd Ave./Stroud Foods campus (&SHOPPING CENTER OF CIVINA), containing 9 high-end condominium buildings/residential towers currently under construction by Hines Co., LLP.; publicly traded company Callaway Golf Resort & Casino opened their doors just south of downtown Covina Centerlette Park + Conference Facility complex on Nov 30th 2009 next door [to] existing(?) callaway golf course originally opened by members of community prior thereto - this having long been desired by business owners within Downtown area who saw opportunity for single address facility serving multiple purpose; finally some smaller projects scattered throughout Downtown area but all designed primarily or exclusively addressing pedestrian amenities include: Mayor Glenn Jacobs Recreation Area features hiking trails overlooking scenic hillsides immediately bordering city limits opposite reservoir; dog park just northeast side streets NW corner courthouse plaza facing main street near intersection with I-5 bridge

Covina is a small town in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, California. The population was 9,898 at the 2010 census. Covina is part of the Pomona-Arden-Arcade Metropolitan Statistical Area. Covina is located on U.S. Route 101 and State Route 91, just east of the San Gabriel Mountains. The name Covina comes from two Mexican words meaning "place where cows are pastured." The first Europeans to explore this area were Spanish explorers who traveled along what is now US 101 in 1693 and 1769. They named this area Ranchero Peak after a rancho (farm) they saw there. In 1819, Rancho Covina was given to Juan Bautista Alvarado by Governor Manuel Micheltorena for his help with suppressing Native Americans in this region during the Mexican War of Independence against Spain. In 1835, John Sutter founded Sutter's Fort near present day Covina after he heard about gold in that area. Mines were discovered here later including Sutter's Mill which produced flour for local breadwinners until it closed down in 1906 due to a lack of demand from locals unable to afford flour high prices set by mill owners because of competition from imported wheat products An ad campaign run by William Randolph Hearst helped bring new businesses such as cinemas and dry goods stores into Covina during the early 20th century; these businesses would be instrumental in helping grow Kovac & Sons Clothing Company into one of Southern California's most wellknown garment companies during that time period A post office called Covina was established at its current location on May 15, 1903 . The townspeople renamed their village after Mount Whitney – then highest mountain peak outside North America – becoming one of only a few American towns known by its original name .
