After purchasing his espresso machine, Aiken quickly began offering his services door-to-door throughout Covina for local businesses looking for an affordable way to reach a wider audience with their product. In 1922, Harry Aiken's son took over father's business; however, Harry continued to offer occasional consulting services until his death in 1984 at the age of 83 years old. This proposal generated much opposition from various homeowners along those routes especially since they felt they had already been given preferential treatment by being designated “Highways” rather than residential Streets/ avenues etc The first street designation change that actually took place within town limits occurred on February 26th 1948 when road number 98 was designated “Hollywood Boulevard” following passage by then Councilmember Leroy Cookson (D)) which proposed renaming several streets within town boundaries such as Sunset Boulevard & Vine Street after movie stars or entertainment figures . This proposal generated much opposition from many homeowners along these routes especially since they felt they had already been given preferential treatment by being designated “Highways” rather than residential Streets/ avenues etc In 1970 Town Clerk Don Collins issued an ordinance changing street numbers again within town boundaries following passage by then Councilmember Clarence Thomas (D)) proposing that certain streets be renamed after prominent citizens or historical events such as Clarence Thomas Way & Daniel Boone Way . This proposal generated much opposition from many homeowners along these routes especially since they felt they had already been given preferential treatment by being designated “Highways” rather than residential Streets/ avenues etc In 1984 Town Clerk Don Collins issued another ordinance designating certain specific roads within town limits with special functions such as connecting different business districts or bypassing downtown .
