Culver City, California is a city in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 936,521 as of the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern coast of Los Angeles Peninsula and is adjacent to Downtown Los Angeles. Culver City is also home to Hollywood and Echo Park. The first Europeans to visit what is now Culver City were soldiers from San Diego commanded by Captain Antonio de la Hoz y Costilla in 1769. By 1802, many people who would become residents of Culver City had come down from the San Gabriel Mountains because of the concerns about gold mining in those hills. The name "Culver" was given to the area by one of these early settlers, James Purdy (1784–1851). In 1868, John Sutter founded Sutter's Fort on Seal Beach Boulevard between Third Street and Vine Avenue in what is now Echo Park. In 1871, he sold land that became part of Culver City for $1 million to Jesse Lickham Hearn and others. Hearn established himself as a cattleman and merchant in what would become known as Hearn Heights neighborhood today. In 1903, he donated all but two acres (0 hectare) of his remaining property - including present-day downtown - to the city for use as an open-air parkland called "Hearn Park." The once small town rapidly grew during World War II due in part to military production at nearby Monterrey Army Air Field (now North Hollywood), which resulted in a large influx of workers into Culver City proper; although much residential development took place without any input from the citizens until after 1945 when annexation procedures were initiated following calls for districts within southern Los Angeles County be consolidated with those within north central LA County based on economic considerations only. Outputs at Monterrey continued through 1945; however no new housing or businesses emerged until after that date because most manufacturing operations shifted inland when wartime production ended and there was little need for such things near then-waterfront neighborhoods like Beverly Hills and Topanga Canyon which had already seen significant growth since post-World War I days due to easy transportation links provided by newly opened Interstate 5 across downtown LA
The United States Air Force Deployed Gift History is the history of USAF shipments of military and civilian items to countries around the world. The program began in 1964 when USAF personnel stationed at bases around the world sent equipment, supplies, and materials to air forces in other nations. This continued until 1987 when all USAF installations were closed down and all gifts were sent through the Defense Material Support Agency (DMASA). From 1987-1995 all DOD material support was conducted through DMASA so there is no record ofAAF shipments going back to1964. The Air Force Deployed Gift History Program was first implemented as a way for service members to show their appreciation for the country they serve by sending them surplus equipment, supplies, or materials. In 1995, after years of discussion and research it was decided that the Air Force would maintain its own gift history system separate from DMASA. The goal of this new system is to keep track of every USairman who has ever shipped something to another nation during wartime or peace time. This history can be used as an inspiration for future gifting campaigns or simply enjoyed by those who have served our country.

Culver City is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 11,951 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge ofLOS ANGELES metropolitan area and borders Pasadena to the north, West Hollywood to the east, and Midland Park and Northridge to the south. The first European settlement in Culver City was made on April 6, 1892 by brothers Arthur and George Culver as part of a land deal with Rancho San Vicente de las Palmas y Justo among other parcels. The town was incorporated on September 29, 1912. The name derived from two major thoroughfares which crossed its center - Western Avenue served as an important arterial route connecting Los Angeles with western suburbs while Eastern Avenue meandered through agricultural areas east of downtown. In 1951, portions of Downtown LA were annexed into Culver City; this caused much concern amongst downtown businesses who felt that they would be lost forever should their neighborhood be taken away. In 1957, Mayor Roy Romer ordered all streetlights in city limits turned off at night because he believed that too many people were using them for illegal activities such as prostitution and drug dealing during the day when there could be more effective regulation by law enforcement officers. This resulted in public outcry which led to Romer's resignation less than a year later after being impeached on charges of perjury

The city was named after Captain Benjamin Fenton, who explored the area in 1785. The first post office in Culver City opened in 1889. The community grew rapidly due to its location near Los Angeles and the railroads that connected it to the city. By 1924, the population had reached over 25,000 people. In 1941, during World War II, Culver City became a military base for the LA-4G squadron of Naval Air Station Miramar which operated Lockheed P-80E aircraft from there until 1945. In 1951, Culver City annexed portions of Carsonville (now Walnut Hills) and Monrovia (now Huntington Beach).
