This permitted Mrs. Anna Waddell (laterMrs.) Fenton (nee Powers) to open her little grocery store on First Street between Third and Fourth Streets on December 3rd1894! A few years later Mrs.-Fenton added another store on Second Street between Third and Fourth Streets! By 1903 there were four stores operating within two blocks of each other!
