The United States Air Force provides air support to local, state and federal agencies through its squadron of fighter jets. The USAF has deployed gifts to Cupertino residents for over fifty years. In keeping with the USAF's commitment to service and support, the organization sends birthday or holiday gifts to selected individuals and organizations within Cupertino each year. In 1951, after years of research and development, the USAF developed a new bomber design that would become known as the B-52 Stratofortress. This landmark aircraft became operational in 1960 and was instrumental in conducting bombing raids against North Korea and Vietnam during the Cold War. The B-52 was also used in Operation Desert Storm in 1991 and Operation Restore Hope in 1995. Since 1992, when Cupertino Mayor Chuck Fletcher opened his city hall at 9th Avenue and Maxwell Street, he has been hosting a special event called "Gift Giving Days". This annual celebration features various displays of USAF memorabilia from throughout Cupertino history. During this time, local businesses are invited to sell items related to the AFB or Air Force culture such as uniforms or insignia. Additionally, there are many food trucks available for purchase adjacent to City Hall during Gift Giving Days. Many people enjoy shopping at these events while others socialize around town while enjoying New American cuisine trucked into town by participating restaurants on Friday evening before Gift Giving Day begins! This event is a great chance to meet some of your neighbors who work with or support the AFB here in Cupertino!

In the early 1960s, Cupertino was a small town in the Inland Empire of California. Its only light came from the Bright Star Observatory on Mount Whitney. The town's only other source of income was selling eggs to local farmers. One man who did not have to worry about groceries was Steve Jobs, who had purchased a small farm two miles outside of town and began to sell apples for $2 per bushel. Jobs decided that he could make his business more successful by starting an air force gift history shop. He named the store "Steve Jobs Aviation Gifts." In 1875, American Commodore John Dyer navalized part of USS Constitution's crew and they took an excursion up Sanchez Road to view the Mount Whitney Range. They called it Taylor Valley because Captain John Taylor who led them made an appearance there on July 12th.. America's first railway reached Cupertino in 1885 when Santa Clara County built the Southern Pacific Railroad between Milpitas and Fremont with track rights near Apple Valley Station. After years of construction and debate over whether or not to incorporation as a city, Cupertino was incorporated on April 1, 1895 by vote of its citizens The history of technology has had a big impact onCupertino-first developed Altoona Instruments Inc., which produces microchips for laptop computers; then later Intel Corporation (now Intel) produced its first chips here; followed by Hewlett-Packard before being bought by IBM in 2007; then Apple Inc.; now Google LLC. The city has also been known for its dairy products such as Imperial Creamery & Cheese and Applebee's restaurants since 1978 when Desilu Productions founded what is now ABC television networks division under license from De Pere Cheese & Co., one of two holding companies that own Desilu properties across five states comprising the Midwest United States. Since 1947, the United States Air Force has donated more than $100 million in gifts to more than 130 countries. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the USAF Civilian Academy at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, which provides opportunities for students from all corners of the world to learn about America’s military presence in their hometowns. The USAF Academy also partners with local schools throughout Alabama to provide educational opportunities for children as well as engage them in USAF culture and policymaking. This past year saw many memorable events connected with our civilian mission. In December, we hosted an international gathering at Joint Base Andrews that included leaders from 35 countries attending talks on topics such as arms control and disarmament; disaster relief; human rights; health care reform; drug trafficking prevention; climate change adaptation; peacekeeping operations; counter-piracy efforts against Somali pirates); economic development assistance programs in Africa (eastern Nigeria); disaster relief assistance programs in Southeast Asia (the Bohai Sea tsunami aftermath); counterterrorism operations (including Operation Neptune Spear – using precision strike aircraft against Taliban targets near Kandahar City, Afghanistan – which was one of the most successful strikes by U.S. Forces since 9/11) ; cooperative exercises between military units from across our globe highlighting interoperability issues related to various domains such as homeland defense and counterterrorism operations . As you can see from this list, every country represented has had some type of relationship or cooperation agreement with the United States Air Force at some point during its history - whether it be providing personnel or materiel support, conducting joint patrols or deployments around the world, sharing ideas or lessons learned during wartime experiences or even just lending an ear when needed! Additionally, each event showcased how our soldiers and aviation professionals help contribute meaningfully to their host communities while supporting US foreign policy goals! Our gift history is testimony not only to who we are as Americans but also how much we appreciate those who have helped us achieve success on so many fronts over these past 50 years!

Cupertino is a small city in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. The city was founded on October 1, 1879 by Rancho Cucamonga ranchers José and María Cisneros. It became a town on July 15, 1906 when it was incorporated as part of the City of San José. On January 1, 1933, Cupertino became an independent city under the jurisdiction of the Santa Clara County government. On February 14, 1995,Cupertino merged with Pleasanton to form the current metropolitan area which has a population of over1 million people. Cupertino's history can be traced back to 1879 when rancho cucharros José Cisneros and María Cisneros bought some land east of present-day downtown Cupertino from George Shoup for $5 per acre (2 hectares). The pair began building their home up from scratch and named their new town "Cucla". They leased some additional land from Miguel Hostetler and developed it into what is now Downtown Cupertino. The first post office opened in 1880; however, it closed due to difficulties getting mail to the town due to distance (then about 60 miles) from San Jose. In 1905, during Coyote Valley Gold Rush days there were numerous sightings of kangaroos roaming through Coyote Valley or pasturing near present day Apple Creek Road southeast of town limits; these animals would often cross roads near intersections in search for food sources that had been abandoned by humans nearby. One such intersection was at Watkins Street and Westshore Boulevard where three Kangaroo crossings are still extant today as evidence that this location served as a key food source for early human settlers in this region. This event helped cement cupertinos identity as being along Coyote Valley corridor – something that still exists today among its residents & visitors! In 1916 work started on developing what would become South Park Avenue which ran parallel to Coyote Valley Rd.; this route later became known as State Route 101 because it connected various towns in Silicon Valley including CupertINO with each other while bypassing downtown Los Gatos & Palo Alto! In 1934 Mayor Elmer Hatcher proclaimed "at last we have our own municipal government" following years of campaigning by Mayor Hickey and others within the civic community who believed that genuine self-government could only come about through incorporation into larger cities or counties! The name change came after efforts were made by local citizens to muscle in on neighboring municipalities' namesakes - typically those situated along valley corridors – Thusinitling itself "Cucla" despite objections from more affluent residents who felt they had been given an undeserved advantage over their less fortunate counterparts due primarily to geographic proximity! Incorporation did not happen until 1935 thanks largely to pressure from then Supervisor James Ritchie (now History Buff Hickey) who saw incorporation as his opportunityto show his bona fides amongst fellow progressives within Santa Clara County’s governmental structures! After much debate between mayor/supervisor pairs both chambers passed resolutions recommending incorporation but no action took place because officials claimed cash flow constraints precluded them from providing all necessary financial resources needed forSuch an undertaking!! For many years thereafter consolidation proposals continued Throughout 1942–1944 but again no action occurred because critical funding shortages restricted implementation plans’ Despite calls by Supervisor John Atherton (& later Governor Ronald Reagan) for legislation authorizing incorporations throughoutSanta Clara County !! On January 1st 1933Cupertino became an independent city under jurisdictionofSantaClaraCountyGovernment On February 14th 1995Cupertino merged withPleasantonTo formthe current metropolitanarea whichhas a populationof over1 million people
