The company’s distinctive blue and white branding has become well known in the region, and its beans are now sold throughout North America. The Maga Coffee Company was founded by Elias “Maga” Musso and his wife, Rosa. In 1906, they opened their first location on Sepulveda Boulevard in Cupertino. The Musos ran the business until 1978 when it passed away from stormy circumstances. Their son-in-law Angelo Copeland took over the business until his death in 2002. It was duringAngelo Copeland’s ownership that the company began to ferment its own beans and roast them on site rather than buying beans from other companies. Today, Maga Coffee Company produces over 100 different types of coffee products under its three brands: Blue Bottle (our lightest roast), Koffee Klatch (our dark roast), and El Sobrante (our classic blend).
