Over the years, Navy deployments have left a lasting impact on Cupertino. The city’s vibrant startup culture has been based in part on its strong relationship with the military and its sailors. From 1967 to 1984, Cupertino was home to Naval Base Camp Pendleton and later Naval Air Station Moffett Field. As the base closed its doors, so did naval recruitment into the city. But as Cupertino started to prosper anew in the 1990s, it also began attracting businesses that were not related to defense or warfare. In 1997, Apple Incorporated founded Apple Park in Mountain View adjacent to Moffett Field Airport. At first glance, it may appear that this development was unrelated to any military activity taking place at Camp Pendleton or NAS Moffett Field - but it wasn’t: Apple had leased land from both bases for their new headquarters and park. Since then, Cupertino has hosted more than one annual Navy deployment - sometimes multiple times over extended periods of time (e.g., during Operation Neptune Spear in 2011). And each time there is an influx of civilians and military personnel moving into town together for weeks or even months on end – it seems like nothing can keep them away from each other! One recent instance saw deployees occupying nearly every apartment building in town for six months while they awaited their next assignment overseas. In fact, Cupertino’s love affair with the armed forces continues even after they leave: Recently some residents have begun selling items unique to those deployed - such as T-shirts emblazoned withDeployed Poets Society stickers – in order to generate revenue for local charities affected by their service.* As our community comes together during these times of sacrifice and preparation, we are reminded that our relationships with our Armed Forces are just as important as ever – no matter what happens overseas!

When USS Coral Sea sailors returned home after their deployment, they brought back almost all their clothes they had donated along with some new clothes they had made themselves! This was an incredible gesture by these Sailors and showed how much they cared about their shipmates back at sea. Another great example came when HMS Ocean Warrior sailors gave away nearly all their food supplies when they transported humanitarian aid into besieged Mosul during Operation Inherent Resolve. These sailors went above and beyond what any other unit could have done by donating everything they had including food rations! This showered support onto local civilians who were going through incredibly difficult times and demonstrated just how valuable Naval forces are when it comes time for them to come ashore anywhere in The World! A final example came when USS Constitution (LHD 7) sailors donated two televisions which were then used by cadets at US Naval Academy Preparatory School in Annapolis Maryland forDisplay purposes only! This act was so thoughtful and touching given that these televisions would have otherwise gone unutilized on board ship during their deployments overseas! It shows just how much love & appreciation we feel for our Sailors who dedicate their lives unto country - something we cannot even imagine!!!

However, following the war’s end and America’s entry into recession in 1969, Cupertino lost much of its manufacturing jobs and saw a significant decline in population growth until 1990 when it regained some prominence as an anchor city for technology companies within Silicon Valley due to advances made within their industry such as Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Intel (INTC). In recent years however there has been steady growth with new businesses moving into town while also preserving older establishments like Apple Store or KFC restaurant which have been central part of CupertINO's fabric since before computers were even invented!
