Gun gift history in Cypress, California began with the purchase of a revolver by George H. Smith in 1887. The revolver was used as a security handgun for the family of doctor and pharmacist Augustus Bailey. TheBailey family continued to own and carry handguns until 1934 when the last handgun was sold. In 1947, ranch hands John & Mable French purchased a 12-gauge shotgun from Wm Bendix & Sons of Cypress, California for use on their ranch. In 1961, Don Freeman purchased an 8mm Remington pump shotgun from Wm Bendix at auction for $1,500. This shotgun would be used as the basis for Freeman's successful rifle business in Cypress beginning in 1966 and continuing until his death in 1988. In 1974, Harry Cook joined the staff at JR’s Gun Shop located on Main Street in Cypress where he became proprietor and majority owner of the business. JRS would continue to serve as Cook’s personal firearms store until 1984 when it closed its doors due to economic conditions within Cypress County. In 1986, Frank Ault opened his second gun shop - Ault Firearms - located on State Route 910 just east of I-5 exit 217B near Firestone tire distributorship concept complete with gas station/restaurant/gun range combo lot adjacent to Blackhawk Golf Course which would become home to Ault Firearms until 1996 when it converted into an auto dealership; however gun sales continued through out this time period at Ault's building (currently 3178 E Orchard Ave). It should be noted that FRANK ALT did not operate GUNS FROM HERE ON OUT - all firearm sales were conducted through JR's Gun Shop from start to finish! In fact Prior thereto FRANK ALT operated what is now known as "The Gun Store" on SR 910 just east of US 191 exit 137A - incidentally acrossfrom Interstate 5) From here on ALL SALES OF FIREARMS IN CYPRESS COUNTY WERE THROUGH JR'S GUN SHOP!! Henceforth THE NAME OF THIS PLACE WILL BE KNOWN AS "THE GUN STORAGE".

Cypress is a city in southern Orange County, California, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. Cypress was founded in 1879 by George C. In recent years there has been much talk about redevelopment within downtown Cypress Village including plans for two high-end shopping centers (One near Safeway and one near KFC) and a mixed use development with 225 apartments above ground level that would have replaced most of the existing single family homes in downtownbusiness district since Vision 2020 putatively calls for increasing density along main Street between Park Avenue South and Indian Wells Boulevard Former Mayor Acevedo ordered demolition of some older buildings along Main Street before his term ended so that more dense development could take place adjacent to park avenue south while still supporting smaller businesses Now that Vision 2020 no longer calls for increased density on Main Street but instead focuses on redeveloping nearby Park Avenue South into an attraction district anchored by two high end shopping centers it seems unlikely development will occur any time soon adjacent to I-10 SaveSave
