The National Guard of California was established on September 16, 1885. The first National Guard unit in California was the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Band. The band played at the courthouse during trials and other events. In 1907, a regiment of the New York National Guard was sent to Southern California to help protect Hollywood from an uprising by Mexican Americans. In 1915, Governor George C. Marshall authorized the formation of a state militia to be called the State Military Reserve Corps of Los Angeles County (SMRC). SMRC units were used for training during World War I and World War II. Starting in 1943, there was a 1-year gap in service between wars; this so reserve corps members could take their children into military service during that time. As part of Army Air Forces plans for allocating active duty forces among various services during World War II, the National Guardsmen were mobilized and assigned to various combat theaters including Europe, Asia and Southwest Pacific Theater where they played an important role in providing air support for Allied troops throughout the war years. After World War II ended, many members of the disbanded SMRCs returned home with promotions and new assignments within society as well as specialties within their respective services which has continued up until today when reserve corps members are once again called up for service through presidential proclamation or act by Congress under certain circumstances such as riots or natural disasters
The National Guard is a militia in the United States. They are formed when local units of the military are called together for service on short notice, usually to support a state government or other emergency. The National Guard can be mobilized quickly and provide essential services during times of crisis. There are many types of National Guardsmen in the United States. There are Army National Guardsmen, Air National Guardsmen, Marine Corps Recruitment Units, Coast Guard Militia and more. Each unit has its own insignia and traditions. In addition to their individual duties, eachNational Guard unit also participates in combined arms exercises with other military branches from time to time. The origins of the National Guard date back to 1792 when patriot militias were created in various parts of America to help quell uprisings against British rule. American troops were not yet organized into national guard regiments until 1824 when President James K Polk called out 1,500 men from New York and Pennsylvania for federal service in the Mexican-American War (1846-48). In 1916 Congress authorized all states except Rhode Island and West Virginia to form militia units with six months notice before call-up and an initial allowance of $5 per day for personnel expenses plus subsistence at home. This authorization was extended nationwide by act of February 4, 1917 which increased the limit to twelve months but did not change the basic composition or purpose of these detachments: "to repel threatened invasion by land or sea." After World War I there was a dramatic increase in calls for soldiers on leave being called back into duty because of economic sanctions against Germany and Italy; this led eventually to voluntary enlistment by Americans across society as well as foreign countries such as Canada who had joined The Hague Conventions after WWI ended hostilities intact between Russia and Austria-Hungary - thus becoming members of the League Of Nations under Article 5 Section 3(a)of the Treaty Of Versailles following World War I . After VE Day American soldiers returned home discharge wise (most without any combat experience) however most enlisted men who had served overseas received training at home first then returned overseas once they completed their training - giving rise agains new soldier conscription issues as many draftees were reenlisted without proper channels through which they could receive honorable discharge while still serving
The Dana Point National Guard was first organized on December 15, 1903. The organization has grown over the years and currently consists of more than 9,000 members. The guard provides support to a variety of local government functions and is called into action when needed to protect citizens from crime or emergencies.
Dana Point, California is a small town located on the southern coast of San Diego County in the United States. The population was 12,898 at the 2010 census. The town has a wide variety of cultures and religions including Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. Dana Point is known for its clear waters and white sand beaches which are popular with both locals and tourists. The first Europeans to visit Dana Point were Spanish missionaries in 1769-1770 who named it "San Miguel de Dana". In 1821, Captain John Sutter discovered gold here while exploring Padres Bay in Alta California. Gold fever brought many people to this area during the late 19th century but it wasn't until after World War II that development began here because of naval Base Naval Air Station Miramar ( NAS Miramar ), which was built on land now occupied by Mary's Beach Marina . NAS Miramar became one of America's most important naval air stations during World War II as it played an important role in support of Allied forces fighting against Japan. It also gave rise to the nickname "Alameda Naval Air Station" because many ships moored there were used by American Marines throughout World War II. After NAS Miramar closed down in 2003, much of its infrastructure was mothballed or sold off for use as part ofMarine Corps Base Camp Pendleton . Today much of NAS Miramar 's former hangar space remains vacant and unused while some portion(s) have been converted into apartment buildings Today Dana Point's economy relies heavily on NASMiramanetwork ,the county government services such as law enforcement, firefighting and public works; professional sports teams such as the Chargers (NFL), Mariners (MLB), Niners (NHL) and Gulls (AFC Pacific Coast Hockey League ) ; growing wine production; tourism; agriculture; recycling;and small businesses

The National Guard has a long and varied history, dating back to the Revolutionary War. The first units were raised in 1775 as part of the Continental Army, and served throughout the war. during the Revolution, many soldiers volunteered to serve in the National Guard, even if they did not have any military experience. In 1812, Congress created an organization called the Militia Bureau to control and organize these volunteer troops. The Militia Bureau was renamed the National Guard in 1821. From its creation until 1861, when it was abolished by President Abraham Lincoln as part of his effort to reduce popular support for slavery, the National Guard played an important role in American society. The National Guard was re-established after Reconstruction ended in 1865. It played a significant role in helping to create new governments and restoring order during this time period. After World War II, many Guardsmen served in various roles across America including peacekeeping forces and counterinsurgency campaigns.
Dana Point is a town in San Diego County, California, United States. The population was 11,873 at the 2010 census. It has been part of the city of San Diego since 1959. The first people to live here were the Tongva Native Americans who called it "Punta de la Cruz." In 1821, Captain John C. Frémont discovered new land here and named it Rancho Santa Clara; this name may have come from Saint Clara of Hungary or from a rancho near Point Conception on Shelter Island inSan Diego Bay. In 1846, Mission Santa Teresa y Asís founded by Franciscan missionaries became known as Dana Point after Father José Altamirano's visit there on October 10 that year. A post office was established at Dana Point on December 3, 1847; and on July 14 of that year the first citizen was elected to represent Dana Point in the Assembly of California. In 1860, with passage of the California Constitution (1859), Dana Point became an incorporated town under state law. On July 15th 1902 – just over 100 years ago – fire destroyed much of downtown but not all including most if not all business buildings except for two hotels which were rebuilt within 4 years: The Huntington Hotel and The Ambassador Hotel now stand as significant landmarks still standing today despite their loss during the 1906 earthquake which leveled parts of downtown as well as nearly everything westward from where they stood including churches and other historical landmark buildings such as Memorial Park Fire Station #1 now used by firefighters for Training purposes only! On January 1st1959 San Diego City Council voted to annex Dana point into our city limits making it official even though we had been mailing letters to residents since before that!
