After World War II, Danville became an important center for aerospace manufacturing due to its proximity to Lockheed Martin's Skunkworks complex. In recent years, however, Danville has been struggling with declining population rates and dwindling economic opportunities. Despite this though, it remains one of the most vibrant communities in East Bay County.

In 1875, Englishman John Stuart Mill developed his own method for roasting coffeebeans which became known as milling or manual roasting. The process involved heating ground beans until they were soft enough to be crushed by hand but still held their shape so they could be roasted evenly on a small stovetop at low temperatures over an extended period of time using very little air pressure! This resulted in a consistently high-quality bean every time which gave miller's coffees their distinctive flavor profiles today! By 1915, all major mills were using this type of roasting process and it continued to play an important role throughout the 20th century!

Danville is a city in western Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 54,143 at the 2010 census. It is located on the San Francisco Peninsula and is adjacent to both San Pablo Bay and Richmond counties. The first permanent settler in Danville was John C. Fremont in 1849. The town was founded on November 17, 1850 by George Hahn and his wife Catherine Fremont as part of Rancho Rinconada de la Cruz grants given to them by Mexican President Antonio López de Santa Anna. In 1851, Daniel Webster moved from Stockton to start what would become known as the Webster–Fremont dynasty of ranching families in central Contra Costa County. The area now comprising Danville became part of Rancho Rinconada when it was granted to Jacques Noyes in 1872 by Governor Manuel Micheltorena for his help with $14,000 towards the purchase of 160 acres (seventy-eight hectares). In 1876, General Edmund Kirby Smith leased 4256 acres (1 km²) from Janssen Bros., developers of Menlo Park who had purchased 153 acres (59 hectares) east of Danville from Owen Dixon for $10 an acre ($/ha). This allowed him to build Kirby Smith Land Company which built ranches that stretched from Menlo Park down into Marin County across Unincorporated Marin County until 1915 when it merged with other land companies and ceased operations. During World War II - specifically 1945 - many Danville businesses made contributions to the war effort such as clothier Wohlgemuth & Co., steel mill Sperry Rand Corp., shipbuilding corporation Pascagoula Shipbuilding Co., brewer Schlitz Brewing Company and pharmaceuticals firm Merck & Co.. After the war ended there were numerous job losses due in large part to government programs likeprompted passage of Medicare and Medicaid which put a lid on demand for local labor during peacetime. However, several small businesses grew up around these industries such as information technology company Microsoft Research Inc./Redmond Operations Inc./Lenovo PC Division etc... After years of struggle by these small businesses against larger competitors they finally emerged victorious with passage of Measure HH1 back in 2008 which created Jobs For Local Economy ordinance making it easier for businesses throughout Contra Costa county to get state funding for certain economic development projects
The Danville region in California was first settled by the Asiatic Swordmakers of Danville in 1847. The town was founded on a small farm about four miles northeast of present-day Danville. The Asiatic Swordmakers were a group of American cartographers, surveyors, and engineers who worked for the British East India Company. They transported goods and supplies through the area and made maps of the region. When California became part of the United States in 1850, the Asiatic Swordmaker community continued to operate until it disbanded in 1865. In that year, the town's only building was demolished and its land sold to make way for a new cotton plantation.
