The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland is one of the most selective military academies in the world. The U.S. Navy has a long and distinguished history of deploying gift gifts to its graduates. The first Gift History was conducted by Rear Admiral John W. Ellis during World War II when he gift gave a watch to midshipman Ensign Robert Erikson on his graduation day at Annapolis Naval Academy in 1945. Ellis was then Commandant of the Naval Academy and later served as Chief of Staff for Fleet Admiral Chester Nimitz (1941-1945). In 1951, Rear Admiral James S. Stockdale made an annual donation of $5,000 to the Naval Academy Alumni Association (later known as The Stockdale Foundation) for scholarships and other opportunities for naval cadets. This donation stands as one of the most significant gifts ever given to the academy’s students and alumni. One example from prior generations is Commodore George Dewey’s donation in 1949 which funded the creation of the Dewey Decimal System at sea level on campus that year and continues to be used today. Commodore Dewey also endowed two chairs in mathematics and natural sciences at NACC – these chairs are still held by current members of staff every fall semester after more than 50 years! In 1982, Commodore John Slessor donated $10,000 towards new construction projects on campus which have since resulted in additional buildings on campus including a library/dining hall/entertainment complex called “Navy Hall” located just off Campus Park Lane adjacent to USNA Vice President Joe Biden’s quarters during his time as Commander-in-Chief! Additionally, The Slessor Foundation has donated millions more dollars towards various education initiatives throughout our community throughoutAnnapolis County! Now in its seventh decade, this important philanthropy continues with fresh donations averaging about $250 per year coming into our foundation . . . this sends a signal that we want Sailors here who will make a positive difference not only inside USS America but also all over our community! It is truly amazing how much these giving Sailors do for their fellow Marines ashore or afloat across all services worldwide! Danville is a small town in California, located about an hour south of Sacramento. The population was 5,817 at the 2010 census. It is bordered by Calaveras County to the north, Contra Costa County to the east and south, and Kern County to the west. Danville is part of the Sacramento–Arden-Arcade–San Joaquin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people who lived in what is now Danville were Native American tribes. They arrived here between 1821 and 1824 as part of a military expedition led by Ulysses S. Grant during his second term as president of the United States. The tribe's leader, Chief Joseph (Josephine) Smith, claimed that he had been sent from God on a mission to lead these Indians into new homes in this area. It wasn't until 1868 that white men began arriving in large numbers as miners and farmers following gold discoveries along the San Andreas Fault. By 1870, over 20 percent of the population consisted of whites living in what is now Danville. At this time, most residents were self-employed farmers or miners who worked concessions granted by local authorities for mining operations. Although farming and mining accounted for most economic activity during early 19th century Danville, there was also development around woodworking shops and breweries that operated during this time period. One such brewery was Doheny's Brewery which opened its doors in 1872 just down the street from where today's Walmart stands! In 1916 when World War I started, many people left their farms to serve in our country's Armed Forces; however many came back home after hostilities ended due to high demand for agricultural goods baked goods etc., which we still enjoy today! Today much like then, Danville has seen a variety of businesses come and go but its Residents have stuck together thru thick & thin! From Main Street running allthe way uptown & beyond-to coming out with something special always happens here every day folks!

One of the most famous Navy deployments was during World War II when America joined forces with Great Britain. This alliance led to Operation Overlord, which was one of the largest amphibious assaults in history. The navy also played a significant role in Desert Storm, which took place in 1990. In recent years, there has been a large focus on Naval Warfare College (NWC) graduates who are working as Marines or Navy SEALs on various missions all over the world.
