At that point too Starbucks decided to divest itself of its entire ownership interest in American Coffee Corporation - this was after months of heated debate between CEO Howard Schultz & President Barack Obama over how best to grow Starbucks' rapidly expanding international presence without jeopardizing parent company Nestle's core interests within Americas largest ecommerce company... [It] wasn't until Schultz announced plans to divest himself completely of his shares within 2 years that Obama finally agreed which created an uproar among some large institutional investors who felt they were being swiped away from Schultz while he continued to run Starbucks independently."

The city was named after George Washington Davis, brother of General John B. Davis. The first post office in the town was established in 1850, and it operated continuously until 1907. In 1865, Davis became an independent community when it seceded from nearby Sacramento County to form its own government. In 1871, the City of Sacramento annexing Davis as part of its boundaries made it an even smaller city with a population of just over 10,000 people. However, growth continued to occur in Davis through the years and it reached its peak population size at around 25,000 people by 1984 when it merged with neighboring Woodland Heights to form the current City of Davis。 The history ofDavis can be traced back to 1849 when General John B. Davis and his wife Sarah A.Davis founded what is now called "Davis". The couple arrived in California on horseback from Missouri after purchasing 2200 acres (10 km2) of land southeast of Sacramento River along the Feather River which they would build their home and later establish a post office including a store and schoolhouse on what is now known as Second Street (). After several months exploring the area they found that there were no other settlements within 50 miles (80 km). They decided upon this location because it offered good prospects for agriculture since there was enough water available for irrigation without having to brave harsh environments near mountain ranges (). In 1850 George Washington Dickson opened up what became known as "Dickson's Store" on Second Street (). This store would become one of the most important aspects of local life for many years thanks to its wide variety Of goods - groceries, hardware items such as nails, screws and glassware - as well as general merchandise such as soapuds and shoeshine parlors (). Other stores followed suit throughout early days but Dickson'sStore remained dominant due largely to its wide selection together with excellent customer service skills which remain today among some OFA locals still active at this business..
