A history of the Davis Police Department gift shop begins in the early 1920s when officer W. H. Weems opened a small store on Sixth Street in Davis to sell Police Officers' Gear, including uniforms and hats. The store continued to exist until it was purchased by the Davis Police Department in 1951. In 1971, Officer Harry Kopp opened a departmental gift shop within the police headquarters on First Avenue in Davis. The department's first gift shop was located inside an old post office building on First Street and served as the department's only source for gifts for its officers and their families.
