In Delano, California, Marines and their families celebrate Christmas with a send-off party at the barracks. Each year, Marines send their loved ones away on deployment with a gift. This year, there will be a send-off event that features both local and international gifts. The celebration starts at 4pm today and will last until 10pm. There will be local food vendors serving refreshments from 12pm to 2pm and live music from 5-10pm. There are also children’s activities from 12pm to 4pm and an art activity from 5-7pm. The Marines deployed gift history in Delano, California in 1942. The Marine Corps stationed the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines at the Army Air Field, Delano for World War II. The battalion was activated on December 9, 1941 and served as part of III Marine Amphibious Force during World War II. The battalion landed on Guadalcanal on February 14, 1943 and fought against the Japanese forces until the end of the war. The battalion returned to San Diego in 1945 and redeployed to Okinawa where they served until Japan's surrender in 1945.
Delano is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 5,471 at the 2010 census. Delano is approximately an hour's drive from L.A. and only has a few businesses open during the day. At night, it becomes a ghost town with residents staying up to watch the stars and listen to music from their homes on the hills. The history of Delano can be traced back to 1864 when General John Caylor and his unit of cavalry were sent by Ulysses S. Grant to reconnaissance duty in Kern County as part of his General Orders No. 9 Aide-de-Camp Corps while he was campaigning against Confederate forces in California. After conducting raids into southern Kern County, Caylor discovered what he thought was an Indian village perched atop a hill near present-day Delano; however, upon exploring further he found that there were no villages or Native Americans living here then or any where near today’s community. The first settler in Delano was Manuel Sanchez who arrived in 1868 from Sutter’s Mill on the San Joaquin River after purchasing land from José Garza and Nicolas Pacheco at what is now known as Rancho del Noriega (now Rancho Santa Ana). Sanchez built himself a cabin on top of one of the hills overlooking town and named it “Sanchez Hill." In 1870, George Atherton bought some additional land north of Sanchez Hill which became known as "Atherton Heights." By 1875, Atherton had erected several stores and residences including one which still stands today named "The Hermitage". That same year also saw another early settler arrive in town – Hiram Bowen who came downriver from Stockton with three horses under his carriage; this man later donated all six horses for use by the townspeople when they first established themselves hereabouts! In 1876, Jens Jensen opened up a grocery store just south of The Hermitage which soon became quite popular among residents due to its wide variety of groceries including Russel Street Market being founded nearly two decades earlier! In 1886 Jens Jensen married Lillie Haughey (daughter of Danish immigrant Rasmus Haughey) who would later become an accomplished artist/photographer active throughout Northern California before her death in 1988 at age 94 years old! In 1888 Hiram Bowen died suddenly afternoons playing checkers with some friends outside his home; thus becoming one less contributing factor to town growth that year! It wasn't until 1903 thatanother store - this time called "Jensen's Hardware" - opened up just northeast of downtown opposite what is now known as "Hollywood Boulevard"! This store would remain open until 1978 when it closed because local citizens decided not to renew their lease due to changing times and increasing competition within the industry! Despite having been operating for over 20 years prior theretoat that point - Jensen's Hardware had yet to gain national attention nor did it have any significant impact on local culture like many other businesses subsequently do!! As mentioned earlier - businesses such as The Hermitage & Jackson's carried on serving residents well into into modern times despite not receiving much commercial success until 1978!!! Consequently - those responsible for bringing about change within today’s community must bear some blame especially given that retail establishments have continued essentially unchanged since then!!!

As part of this operation, marines received numerous awards including two Presidential Unit Citations (PUC). In addition, Corporal First Class Alvin P.. Burton became known as “the Screaming Lion” after saving six men from drowning while leading a team ashore during an amphibious assault at Tarawa Atoll in 1941; he later received both the Navy Cross and Croix de Guerre following his heroism in that conflict. In recent years, marine deployments have become increasingly commonplace across many parts of the world with troops being sent into combat areas such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Mali etcetera under various conditions including high stakes security situations which require quick response times, effective air support and infantry capabilities that can brawl through terrain or chop down trees with precision damage control techniques called “mobility engineering". Delano, California was founded in 1847 by a group of farmers and ranchers. The town rapidly grew and soon became a major center for the agricultural industry. In addition to its agricultural production, Delano also became known for its winegrowing industry. The town's growing population also made it an ideal place to establish schools and businesses. The town's growth led to significant development within the community, which eventually led to the creation of Delano Municipal Utility District (DMD). The DMD is responsible for providing economic stability and essential services to the residents of Delano as well as neighboring communities. The history of Delano began with the construction of the first post office in 1847. By 1870, however,Delano had become a small settlement with only twenty-four residents. In that year, however, Mayor John Hays established the Town Board which functioned as the governing body forDelano. Under Mayor Hays' leadership,the Town Board developed plans for expandingDelano into a larger community with more than one thousand residents by 1889. Unfortunately, due to World War I efforts by America's warring factions, DeLano never regained itsrowth potential and only reached half its original size by 1919. Since then, much has changed withinDelanco; including increased population growth rates (as well as changes in local political landscape), suburbanization of some portions of town while maintaining close ties between downtown and other areas throughout the community; new development along Interstate 5;and continued redevelopment within parts of town following decisions made by Mayor Jerry Brown during his time in office In 1969 Wojciech Jaruzelski was elected mayor who quickly implemented sweeping transformational change withinDELANO government including creating city management structure - first in any U S city - giving centralized authority over all public safety & services across jurisdictional boundary;Hiwassee Blvd/I-5 interchange expansion project completed under his watch that opened up commute into downtown & wider suburbia – this created dual needs or demand from adjacent suburbs needing more jobs but also people commuting downtown getting their health care etc.; subsequently establishing goals/ Objectives for DELANO through City Manager’s Plan & implementing action items thereto
