It was a small place that served only coffee. In the early 1990s, two men named Don and Rick opened a small cafe called Joe's Pizza which became one of the most popular cafes in town. Joe's Pizza continued to serve great pizza until they closed their doors in 2006. In 2007, Bob and Cindy started Roasting & Coffee at their home on Navajo Road. They roasted beans from local farmers and began serving their own unique blend of coffee which has become well-known throughout town. Their roast is now available for purchase online as well as at various locations around town. Today, there are many different types of businesses that operate within the confines of Desert Hot Springs; but, none have had more impact on the community than those aforementioned three establishments: Joe's Pizza, Roasting & Coffee, and Bob & Cindy's Homebrew Café. Desert Hot Springs is a small town located in Inyo County, California, United States. The population was 7,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sierra Nevada foothills region. The springs were discovered by prospectors in 1864 while exploring for gold in what is now Inyo County. They named it after General John C. Fremont's successful campaign against Mexican forces in 1846-47 near modern-day Yuma and San Diego Counties. In the 1920s, hot spring water was used to treat tuberculosis patients at nearby Desert City; however, those days are behind us as this water source has all but dried up since then. Today, desertHotSprings provides visitors with a relaxing bath or treatment suite complete with heated pool and waterfall overlooking the Spring below. As one enters Desert Hot Springs from Interstate 10 eastbound on State Route 395 there is a large sign that reads "Welcome to Desert Hot Springs." Just beyond this signs are several public baths - including one that offers an outdoor pool! This public pool complex also includes several restaurants and bars as well as an exercise room and spa area complete with Steam Room and Sauna/Spa!

Desert Hot Springs is a small town in Kern County, California, located in the Horse Canyon area of the Mojave Desert. The springs are said to have been discovered by an American Indian named Juan Bautista de Anza at what is now the junction of U.S. Route 191 and State Route 606 on April 12, 1871. The town was founded on May 8, 1872 by James Waddell and his wife Fannie Harker Waddell from Palmdale, California. In 1870 it had a population of about 100 people living in small adobe buildings near the springs. By 1910 it had grown to 1,500 people and was considered one of the most important towns in Kern County for water production. The first post office opened in 1872; it closed on December 3, 1886 due to lack of mail flow from Palmdale. The first store opened in 1907 and remained open until 1959; it was replaced by a ranch house that still stands today as part of Desert Hot Springs National Monument. In 1916 desert traders drove through desert hot SPRINGS just before they started trading with LAS VEGAS over trade routes over bumpy roads into valley floor mining areas (today known as Cima Mesa) which became known as "the wash." Many eyewitnesses tell stories about early travelers who would see caravans coming downriver towards SPRINGS while others could hear music sounding like bells coming from upriver where SPRings lay hidden among mountains producing Mineral Water available at high prices only at SPRINGS! In 1928 an electrical plant began operations supplying electricity to Deserto San Joaquin Valley Electric Cooperative company customers; this plant continues operations today as Partenon Generation Station #2 along USD lines 21st Street SW & E Mountain Avenue NE adjacent to BLM land adjacent to Arizona/Mexico border
