Airforce gift history in Diamond Bar, California goes back to the early days of the Air Force. The first air force base in Diamond Bar was established on December 8, 1941. It was called Camp Roberts and served as a training ground for theAAF during World War II. In 1949, the Air Force Academy opened its doors and part of the military surplusariat was transferred to Diamond Bar. The gift of an F-86F Sabre jet fighter from General Electric Company went a long way in building relationships between USAF and RCAF. In 1957, two F-100 Super Sabres were donated by Lockheed Corporation and these planes helped improve aerial refueling capabilities for USAF bombers missions over Korea. On July 1, 1959, an A-6E Intruder became the first US military aircraft to be delivered to RAF Station Coningsby in England after being procured by United States Navy via Foreign Military Sales program. This plane is considered one of America’s earliest contributions to NATO aviation forces and has been used extensively by both European countries including RAF Coningsby until its retirement in 2006. Another important donation made to the Air Force at this time was an A-10 Thunderbolt II medium tank which arrived at Holloman AFB on October 9, 1964 with associated equipment and services as part of Project Eaker conversion project undertaken by US Marine Corps units stationed at Holloman AFB during that period. Since then there have been more than 200 donations from businesses, individuals or governments throughout America which have played a significant role in enhancing air force capabilities across all segments of our service branches - bomber, tanker, strike fighter jets etcetera! The U.S. Air Force has a rich history in Diamond Bar, California. The first unit to be stationed in the city was the 328th Bomb Squadron, which arrived from Wichita Falls, Texas in 1942. The 328th was redesignated as the 414th Bomb Group and activated at Homestead-Miami Field on October 1, 1942. It served as an experimental bombing group before being disbanded on September 30, 1945. On February 9, 1946 the 414th BG was reactivated at Rosamond Army Airfield and again served as an experimental bomber group before being consolidated with other groups into the 914th BG on April 15 of that year. The 914thBG operated untilactivated on August 19, 1951 when it demobilized at Pyote Army Airfield TX. On December 18, 1951 activations of three other groups – 511st ABG (later redesignated 513rd ABG), 704th FG (later redesignated 706th FG) and 860th OG (later redesignated 861st OG) began at Mountain Home AFB UT for training under Far East Command prior to their deployment to Japan where they were initially attached to VIII Bomber Command but later became IX Bomber Command operating out of Honshu Island. In May 1955 all fighter-bomber units were transferred from Okinawa to Ia Drago AF while bombers continued operations from Ia Drago through 1957 equipped with T-6 Texan jets; however these deployments ended following Japan's surrender and World War II came to a close The last bombardment squadron active in Diamond Bar was the 602nd Bomb Wing/414 th BG which deployed aboard USS Pueblo (LHD 3) for atomic bombing of Hiroshima on August 6 1945 followed by return trips back home two days later).
Diamond Bar is a small town in the Mono County, California. The population was 1,631 at the 2010 census. It is located on Highway 395 about 18 miles east of Yosemite National Park and 38 miles west of Lake Tahoe. Diamond Bar's name comes from nearby diamond mines which were once very important to the community. The first white person to live in Diamond Bar was James Irvine who came overland from San Francisco in 1849. He built a cabin on the edge of what is now known as Diamond Bar and started a small store. In 1868, John Wesley Powell named this area after himself when he found it while exploring the Central Valley for irrigation water resources. In 1886, J.P. Morgan sent his son John Pemberton to buy some land near Diamond Bar for $10,000 dollars so that he could start an agricultural company there called Morgan & Pemberton Rancho de la Union (later renamed Santa Clara Valley). The mine owners wanted to keep their mine open even though they were losing money because they were selling short shares of their product to other investors who would then sell them back immediately for more money than they had paid for them! They ceded control of the mine to Morgan & Pemberton but kept the name and still use it today as part of their holdings in that company. The first post office at Diamond Bar was established in 1865, but it never opened because no one bought the mail until 1871 when Wm Hurlbut donated nine postal sacks full of mail daily from Independence, Missouri so that people could get deliveries faster when traveling through Mono County by stagecoach or wagon train. During World War II, many American soldiers died or were injured during combat in Mono County due to gas warfare being used by Nazi Germany against Allied forces along with other factors such as poor medical care available at those times making war almost impossible for many people including servicemen and women especially those living close by where there was little food or water available except sometimes salvaged supplies provided by local farmers according to historian Tom Kappenberger’s book “Mono: A History” which can be found online at www.monochroniclebooksandthespruceeatsbloggerfoundationusa@gmailcom There are several gravesites located around town marker #1 specifically identified within walking distance thereof; one particularly interesting site is marked by a plaque affixed thereto reading “Here lies Corporal Raymond Junker November 7th 1942 Gassed After Battle At Anzio Italy Died Age 21″ among others like this throughout much of Monrovia township including neighboring Anzio Village where brave young Americans fighting alongside British troops also lost their lives subsequent experiences have left an indelible mark on these communities collectively often functioning informally under one collective memoryscape ever since

Diamond Bar was founded in 1868 by James W. Diamond and his partners as a small gold mining town on the Kern River, about 30 miles north of San Bernardino. The first gold discovery in California had been made four years earlier in 1845 by John Sutter and his team of miners, but it was not until 1868 that Diamond Bar became a recognized center for the industry. From its inception, Diamond Bar was an important hub for transportation and trade because of its location on the Kern River. The town grew rapidly due to the successful exploitation of its Gold Rush mines, and by 1870 it had reached a population of 4,000 people. By 1880, diamond bar was one of the most prosperous towns in southern California. However, during the Panic of 1893 there were severe financial problems at diamond bar and many residents left for economic reasons. In 1895, James W. Diamond sold his shares in diamond bar to George Cushing who renamed it Cushing City. The city continued to grow slowly until World War II when it experienced rapid growth due to wartime demand for aluminum products from nearby military installations. After World War II ended, Cushing City declined significantly due to changes in postwar society and an increase in traffic on the highway which made it difficult to get around without cars. In 1984, Cushing City reverted back to its original name - Diamond Bar - afterJames W.'s grandson donated $1 million towards community revitalization projects
