The California Air National Guard’s (CANA) Dinuba Wing is responsible for the training and flying of the ANG’s combat air forces. This wing includes two fighter squadrons, one bomber squadron, and a support squadron. The wing also has an Aviation Maintenance Squadron that provides aircraft maintenance and repairs to ANG jets and helicopters. In addition to their fighting power, these wings provide gift history for the community in which they serve by providing cultural experiences and entertaining events. ANG units have flown into Dinuba many times over the years for various purposes including Armed Forces Day parades, fly-ins/training exercises, family reunions, state fairs/parades, local elections etc. The Wing flew its first mission from RAF Lakenheath on Apr 9th 1945 as part of 73rd Fighter Group with P-47 Warhawks. In 1948 the 73rd FG was redesignated as 7th Fighter Interceptor Wing (Eagle), however it did not become operational until 1951 when F-94 Starfires were assigned to it from the 449th Fighter Interceptor Wing at Davis-Monthan AFB AZ). In 1956 together with other units of IAF in India 7 FW was redesignated 1st Tactical Fighter Command under then newly created Directorate of Air Training & Doctrine (DATADO). In 1962 DATADO was disbanded & replaced by Directorate of Military Intelligence - Directorate OF Military Intelligence! Finally in 1966 when Republic Of China Air Force took over control of USAF assets here in Dinuba we reverted back to our original name 7 FW! That same year we became part of United States Air Forces Southern Pacific Area! In 1989 United States Air Forces Southern Pacific Area was disbanded & all North American Aerospace Defense Command assets were reassigned here to SOUTHWESTERN PACIFIC AREA under command of First Lt Gen Carl Eikenberry Jr who had just taken command!!! As a result USAF closed down parts or all Dinuba AFB! However All ANG assets are still active today!!! It should be noted that this paper is about what happened AFTER NORTHERN AMERICAN AIR DEFENSE COMMAND SAID THE END WAS NEAR AND ALL DINUBAN AERODROME ACTIVITY STOPPED!!!!! Dinuba, California is a city located in the Mojave Desert of Southern California. The population was 109,777 at the 2010 census and it is the center of the surrounding Baja California Desert Micropolitan Statistical Area. It is also one of two cities in Baja California, along with Tijuana, that has both official recognition by the Mexican government as part of its territory. The first permanent inhabitant of Dinuba was Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo who explored and landed on what is now Northern California in 1542. After his arrival many other Spanish and Portuguese explorers followed his trail before arriving here about 1700. A mission called Nuestra Señora de la Concepción was founded in 1821 by Franciscan monks under Governor Manuel Micheltorena and continued to be run until 1847 when it closed due to hostile conditions on the peninsula. In 1848 Padres Joaquin Herrera y Costilla founded Los Angeles Mission San Gabriel Arcángel which served as a temporary home for missionaries until Mexico City became an official capital in 1863. The old mission still stands today across from town limits near Interstate 5 and provides a good view of downtown Dinuba from its grounds. In 1902 Captain Frederick Hutton discovered oil fields here while exploring northwest America for drilling companies during World War I; this led to Dinuba's nickname "Oil Capital of the World" until production peaked in 1962 with an output of 344,000 barrels per day (bpd). However, little oil remains now after several decades since production Riverside-based BP announced plans to end operations there effective March 1, 2019 citing market reasons unrelated to climate change or environmental degradation caused by their operations over that time period The post-World War II boom began with construction jobs brought over from nearby Riverside County which had experienced rapid growth following incorporation into Baja CA as a result of Proposition 10 (the statehood referendum of 1932). This new development paralleled but did not replace traditional agricultural activities centered around irrigation agriculture so much as provide services such as grocery stores, health clinics and housing developments for workers during these years leading up to statehood ceremonies on November 16th 1948 where voters approved becoming a state without borders open to all Americans regardless race or religion etc.. With ratification came increased security due bothto growing numbers within federal jurisdiction plus increasing Mexican immigration culminating in Yuma County breaking away from Baja CA on February 14th 1912 forming Arizona Territory which would become known as Sonora only days later when US Marines arrived unannounced at dawn after raiding cattle ranches south central Yuma County) resulting in serious international embarrassment especially given newly gained sovereignty over much larger Nuevo Mexico including parts adjacent to present day Baja CA & Coahuila State within Mexicali Federal District eccentrically located just eastward OfTijuana Bohío Valley Although some Bugtalian settlers actually remained through various waves OF Mexican migration most people leaving departed shortly after admission into United States proper thru process known popularly as Yuco-América stage finally ending following AMERICAN annexation formalized via Treaty between President Roosevelt & Emperor Taft dated January 30th 1939Within months numerous small towns had sprung up throughout interior UAWBSA regions ie: San Fernando Valley subdivisions Ahuachuca Canyon & La Mesa every major city having at least one smaller community angling unsuccessfully vainlyTo links distant past with present&future opportunities appeared increasingly important more than ever before particularly given unique geographical location surrounded By vast desert landscape largely uninhabited except for occasional ranching interests typical grazing areas lying dormant remaining primarily off grid terrainmostly unpopulated …………..Today’s economy rests principally upon mining resources associated with uranium exploration offshore waters adjoining Imperial Beach although sulfur gas reserves have recently been found near Point Conchos east side mountains
