Dinuba, California is a town in Mono County, California, United States. The population was 1,883 at the 2010 census. It amounts to about one-seventh of the entire county and it's only incorporated village. However its Police Department has been providing law enforcement services in the area for over eighty years. The Dinuba Police Department was organized on December 18th, 1907 under the name of "The Citizens' Patrol" and was reorganized as an official police department on January 1st, 1912 under the name of "The Dinuba Constable's Office." The first full-time Chief of Police was Mr. George Ladd who served from 1912 until his retirement on November 5th, 1944. On that date Captains Clifford Hetzel and Aloysius Jansen were appointed to fill his shoes until he could be replaced by someone with more experience. From 1922 through 1932 Captain John Wertheimer led the department while Assistant Chief Luther Weinstock supervised day-to-day operationstwenty four hours a day seven days a week. In 1933 Captain Clarence Purdy took over leadership duties from Captain Wertheimer and continued to lead the department until his death in 1951; during this time period lieutenant Roy Capps also served as captain for many years before becoming assistant chief in 1978. In 1984 Captain Donny Ferguson was appointed Chief after serving as Deputy Chief for six years; during this time period Warrant Officer Gary Ahern became acting chief when Ferguson left office to become State Superintendent of Public Instruction in Kern County, California Captain Donny Ferguson retired on December 31st, 2000 having achieved forty (40) years with the Dinuba Police Department; during that time period Sergeant Greg Goudreau became Acting Sergeant at large after Sergeant Arthur Taylor resigned effective February 1st 2001 due health reasons In 2002 Lieutenant Tom Barnes became Commanding Officer upon succession to lieutenant colonel Dave Kappes who had been acting commanding officer since September 1998 . At present there are three command positions within our organization: Headquarters (HDC), Patrols (P), and Investigations (I). On July 15th 2018 we celebrated our centennial with a parade through town...along with numerous community events throughout that year

Dinuba is a city in northern California, United States. The population was 7,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area and is located on the southern shore of Redondo Beach County. The history of Dinuba can be traced back to 1874 when Hugh Sutter founded the Sutter Ranch, which eventually became the town of Sutterville. In 1907, Dinuba annexed part of La Mesa and in 1912 it annexed Placentia Heights. In 1922, Dinuba annexed Cerritos and in 1932 it annexed Huntington Beach. In 1957, Dinuba increased its population by annexing portions of Mission Viejo and Seal Beach. In 1964, it became an independent city with its own government under Mayor Tom Dooley Sr., who served until his death in 1984. After Dooley's death, City Manager Leroy Aiken took over management from Aiken until he retired in 1999 after serving for 36 years. On July 1, 2009 as a result of Proposition 218 (the Statewide Measure 2), which passed through California voters without any opposition but required approval from both cities and counties before taking effect - within two months after passage - Aiken had resigned effective September 10th due to health issues that had been developing for some time: hyperthyroidism (~50% prevalence) affecting his thyroid gland; however this was not actually cited as a cause for his resignation specifically but rather due to various personal reasons which included increasing demands on his time as mayor while also working on additional projects within City Hall including planned revisions to City Charter & Governance; additionally during his term there were several high-profile arrests/incidents including one involving then-Mayor Bob Filner where protestor Mark Wahlberg was arrested outside City Hall duringfilner's mayoral campaign event On October 3rd following public outcry against what seemed like blatant disrespect by Mayor Wahlberg towards Supervisor Scott Wiener (who at that point held minority representation on the Board Of Supervisors) along with allegations that Mayor Wahlberg may have influenced decisions made about Wiener's bid for state office - both actions were met with severe criticism from constituents who called for an Investigation into what many saw ascorruption within the Inner-City Councilmember Cabinet having total power over all aspects related to Development & zoning decisions made by staff member(s) directly implicated in Wiener’s election defeat - culminating withFilner being charged with Corruption Undermining Official Misconduct after evidence emerged suggesting he threatened Supervisor Wiener if he didn't endorse him for re-election - large protests occurred throughout downtown Quanox Park Thurston Street between Sixth Avenue North & First Street South immediately following Filner's arrest followed thereafter by ongoing peaceful demonstrations throughout much of Downtown Quanox Park Thurston Street between Sixth Avenue North & First Street South even up until late night providing clear indication that citizens are not willing to take their Government away without a fight - resulted ultimately in Filner being clearedof Corruption Charges later that same year; however these types of direct action shows just how serious things can get when average citizens feel they're not getting their voice heard

The town grew rapidly, and by 1923 it had reached its millionth inhabitant. However, during World War II Dinuba was forced to evacuate due to thesituation at nearby Bodega Bay; however, the community continued to thrive thanks to its close proximity to major military bases and other wartime necessities. In 1959, Dinuba merged with neighboring towns Alpine and Morro Bay; this merger brought about increased population growth and development, which helped make Dinuba one of the most thriving communities in California. In 2000, Dinuba merged with Redding again; this merge resulted in an overall population increase of 5%.
