Dinuba, California is home to the oldest continuously operating coffee roasting company in the Western Hemisphere. The coffee beans are roasted and ground onsite in a small, family-owned business that has been continuous since 1892. In recent years, the company has seen some growth and expansion; they now sell their coffee online and in physical stores throughout Northern California. The first time anyone tasted Dinuba Coffee was in 1892 when Captain John Crain of the steamship Californian brought a shipment of Arabica beans from Java to San Francisco. At that time, there were only a few cafes in town and most people drank wine or beer. The Arabsica beans found their way into Captain Crain's boat and he took them back to his ship with him, bringing them ashore at Fisherman's Wharf onshore where he sold them to Jameson & Sons for $1 each. This was the beginning of what would become Dinuba Coffee Company – one of the first -and longest running -coffee companies in America! In 1912, Captains Harry Waddell and Edward Jaffe bought out Captain Crain's share in the company. They continued to produce Arabica beans under their own label until 1933 when they merged with rival Jaffe Bros.'s Coffee Company Ltd., which had also been founded by Harry Waddell and Edward Jaffe. With this merger came much change for Dinuba Coffee Company as well as for American coffee culture overall – it shifted from an artisanal bean-to-basket operation to one run by corporate hands! However, despite these changes, dinuba coffee still remains a classic cup of java enjoyed today by many residents of Northern California who appreciate its unique flavor profile along with its sustainability policies (100% organic!).

Since the early days of coffee, Dinuba has been a center for roasting and brewing. Coffee beans were roasted in small batches here before being exported to other parts of the world. The first cafe in town was founded by two Dutchmen, Johann and Cornelis van der Heyden, in 1855. In the late 1800s, coffee was not as popular as it is now and people would go to San Francisco for their morning caffeine fix instead. However, the Van der Heyden family kept their business going until 1907. By then, they had started making coffee concentrate which they sold to local businesses. In 1922, a group of men from Dinuba formed an all-volunteer cooperative called Cooperative Coffee Merchants (CAM). CAM became one of the largest coffee cooperatives in California. It operated until 1995 when it merged with another cooperative, the American Coffee & Tea Company (Avery Brewing Co.)

Dinuba, California is a small town in the Mojave Desert of southern California. It is located about 90 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and 25 miles south of Palm Springs. The population was 2,811 at the 2010 census. Dinuba has a rough history that dates back to 1881 when it was part of the Rancho San Bernardino Mexican land grant system. In 1912, Dinuba incorporated as a city and has since grown rapidly into one of Southern California's leading agricultural communities with more than $1 billion in agricultural products exported annually.

Dinuba was founded by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542 on the north coast of California. It became a part of Mexico after the Mexican-American War and then, in 1871, it became an American territory. In 1942, it was annexed by Japan as part of the Japanese Empire; it eventually fell to China in 1945.
