The Navy has been deployed in Dixon, California for more than a century. The city is home to the Naval Academy and the USS Constitution Museum, both of which are part of the United States Navy Memorial Fleet. This support continued through World War II when Dixon served as one of several sites where Japanese Americans were interned during World War II (the others being Topaz Valley near Signal Hill). After World War II ended, Dixon grew increasingly conservative due to its large Latino population- most of whom worked within Greater Los Angeles County’s government or business sectors-. However, this trend changed during recent decades as Dixon has become one of Southern California’s most diversified cities with strong ties to different communities around the country including Oakland (where he currently resides), San Diego (home to Qualcomm Stadium), Riverside (home to Sleepy Lagoon) and Hillsborough (home to Hillsborough Village). The City Councilors currently represent over 20 diverse districts with each having their own agenda that they pursue while working together towards common goals such as beautification projects or combating blight within their respective neighborhoods/communities

Dixon is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 1,349 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Joaquin Valley region. Dixon's economy depends on agriculture and ranching. Dixon has a post office, two churches, one school, and one water Utilities company that provides drinking water to most of the town. The town was founded in 1887 by brothers John and James Dixon. The elder Dixon mined copper from nearby hills and brought it to Dixon for processing into coins and jewelry. In 1907, the brothers built a sawmill that produced lumber for city buildings in Kern County. By 1912, John Dixon had died and James took over management of the mill until his death in 1925. Dixon, California is a small town located in Sacramento County, California, United States. It is situated on the banks of the Feather River and has been inhabited by Native Americans for over two centuries. The first Europeans to visit Dixon were Spanish missionaries in 1821. Dixon was founded in 1867 by Daniel Dixon and his wife Lucy as a small farming community on the east bank of the Feather River. In 1870, it became a post office with the name of "Dixon." By 1925, it had become an incorporated village with the name of "Dixon." In 1930, it merged with nearby Dominguez to form what is now known as Dixon-Dominguez City. The population of Dixon peaked at 1,827 in 1940 but declined to 980 during World War II before declining again during the postwar period. In 1960, it reverted back to its original name: Dixon. The population today remains below 1000.

The first school was built in 1862 and attendance rapidly grew to include children from nearby towns. By 1870, there were nine schools in Dixon; four of which were high schools. In 1907, the town had an estimated population of 3,500 people; however due to immigration quotas set by Congress, that number dwindled to 2,100 by 1930.
