NBC was purchased by Peet's company in 1978, which then merged with Dutch Bros., Incorporated (DBC) to form Peet's Corporation. After Peet's merger, Gourmet Coffee continued to be a division of DBC until it was sold off to another coffee store proprietor in 1994. Since its inception, Gourmet Coffee has become a popular choice for locals and tourists alike because of its unique atmosphere and top-of-the-line products. In addition to its flagship store on University Avenue, Gourmet Coffee also operates two cafes: one on Menlo Park Boulevard near Stanford University and one in San Francisco Heights near Mission Bayou Park.
