The National Guard was first organized in 1903 as the Army Reserve. It was created to help with wartime needs such as labor and supplies. The Guard also served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. Since then, the Guard has donated over 1 million pounds of food to local food banks and Soup kitchens. Additionally, the Guards have provided uniforms for local police departments and firefighters. East Palo Alto is a city in Santa Clara County, California, United States. The population was 129,554 at the 2010 census. The original homes were built in terracotta brownstone with white picket fence around them with driveways that led to large gardens which included ponds stocked with fish for swimming or playing. By 1916 over 100 homes had been completed including 30 that still stand today. In 1925 Jens Jensen sold his interest in the company to his son Harald Jensen who continued to develop it into East Palo Alto Properties Company which was incorporated on December 6th 1929 by Harald Jensen Sr./Harold Jensen Jr., WIlliam Hargrave (founder of HP), Al Arbuckle (founder of Time Warner), Edwin Scripps Jr.(founder of CBS) and others associated with early computer industry pioneers such as Clifford Berryman(fatherof Microsoft Corp.), Dave Barger(co-founder jobnet), Gene Amdahl(founder Sun Microsystems) among others In 1957 Motorola announced plans to build an electronic manufacturing plant in eastern Palo Alto so employees would have access to quality products from all over the world instead of just North America On October 17th 1957 East Palo Alto Properties Company became part of Motorola Incorporated In 1968 Arthur C Clarke foundedClarke Associates Ltd which developed software products for Apple Incorporation In 1984 Intel Corporation announced plans to move its main campus fromSanta Clara County into East Palo Alto On March 20th 1988 Yahoo! went public

East Palo Alto is a city in San Mateo County, California, United States. The population was 24,153 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Silicon Valley metropolitan area. East Palo Alto has been home to many early technological and scientific pioneers, such as William Shockley, Les Hague and Clifford Berry. In recent years it has become an affluent community with high-tech firms and businesses accounting for most of its economic activity. East Palo Alto was founded by John Blyth on November 15, 1875 as a small village on the east side of San Francisco Bay south of Point Loma. He named it after his paternal great-grandfather's estate in England – East Cheltenham (now Cheltenham). The first permanent settler in what would become East Palo Alto was James Mudd who arrived on October 12, 1876 from Cincinnati with his family and took up residence at 5200 Yerba Buena Road. Mudd's brother Abel had also moved to eastern Contra Costa County two weeks earlier from Menlo Park. In 1878 Wm Jourdain arrived from Santa Clara County with his family and began working at Mission Peak on the southern edge of town site that he purchased from John Blyth for $5 per acre (the equivalent of $ today). Jourdain built a house there which still stands today within view of Mission Peak BART station; he also started a grove of trees near present-day Alma Street to shade his employees during the heat of summer. Despite this modest beginning these early settlers established themselves as farmers...Wm Jourdain became proprietor/manager/founder ("Pioneer Jim")of Alameda Creek Water Works which supplied water to over one million people in northern California before it went dry in 1951; Wm Jourdain alsoowned la Cumbre Hotel & Casino adjacent to mission peak BART Station which played host to many famous dignitaries including Presidents Eisenhower and Nixon

The city's first store was a general store on El Camino Real and it grew quickly because of its location near the University and colleges. In 1912, East Palo Alto became one of the towns in San Francisco County when it was annexed by the city. In 1916, East Palo Alto became a Borough within San Francisco. In 1951, East Palo Alto annexed Playa del Rey which made it an incorporated town with its own government. In 1974, East Palo Alto became an official City after gaining separate tax-increment financing from the Bay Area Authority for Housing and Urban Development (BAAHUD). The City has since been expanding rapidly with annexation of additional neighborhoods including Menlo Park and West Egg until it now includes over 100 residential districts stretching from Merrimack Valley to Montclairolski Heights.
