El Cerrito, California is a city in San Francisco County, California, United States. The population was 24,191 at the 2010 census. It is located on the east side of San Francisco Bay and is part of the San Francisco–Oakland–Hayward metropolitan area. El Cerrito has a warm climate with mild winters and hot summers.
