Some of the first espresso machines were made by Luigi Beccaria, a grocer in Milan, Italy. He built his first machine in 1793. In 1814, Italian coffee house owner Giovanni Zucchetto introduced his roaster and grinder to the city of New York City. The next year, he opened the first café in San Francisco. In 1907, Angelo Cappuccino founded La Colonna Coffee Roasters in Rome. Over time, other small cafes followed suit and started producing their own unique brand of espresso - such as Bobo's Cafe in Brooklyn and Café Bottega Veneta in Venice. In 1971, DonatellO Brunello founded Brunello Coffee & Tea Company – one of the earliest Starbucks stores – in Oakland, California. Elk Grove (CA) is a small city located in the North Bay region of San Francisco on the Peninsula. The population was 9,362 at the 2010 census. Elk Grove has a rich history dating back to 1847 when it was part of Rancho Elkhorn Mexican land grant. Today, Elk Grove is home to a variety of businesses and organizations including the Elk Grove Village Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which was founded in 1916; Elmhurst University; and the Elk Grove Park District. The most well-known landmark in town is Elmira Park, which features a golf course, lake, playgrounds, basketball courts and other recreational amenities. There is no doubt that coffee has been around for centuries, but the history of artisan coffee starts before that. In fact, some of the earliest signs of coffee's importance can be found in ancient Greece and Rome where it was used as a trade item between these countries. Coffee also played an important role in medieval Europe, where it was often brewed at monasteries to help with spiritual purposes. Throughout the 16th century, coffee became a popular commodity in European society and began to be exported to other parts of the world. This increased demand led to more experimentation with different brewing methods and flavors. By the 17th century, Italian roasters had developed a unique style of roast that became known as Italian Roasting. Additionally, Dutch exports began becoming prominent in this time period due to their expertise in roasted beans and espresso production. In 1847, Bavarian chemists created what would becomeknown as Koffeehaus Münchner Coffee Beans which were first sold abroad. The popularity of artisan coffees grew throughout the 1800s and by 1900 most grocery stores had their own café forces who served traditional German-style cafés along with international brands such as Robusta and Portersville.) However, it wasn't until World War II when coffee truly took off across all sectors of society thanks to rationing policies that people really started enjoying this valuable beverage. After the war, there was continued growth in artisanal coffees due to new technologies like drip water brewing (which gave users more control over flavor) and mass production (which allowed for greater variety). Today, many people enjoy artisanal coffees based on their personal preference or taste preferences because they are able to find high-quality beans from small growers around the world who focus on quality ingredients and hand-selected equipment

Elk Grove is a city in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The population was 107,451 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Modesto– Oakdale, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Elk Grove was incorporated on November 3, 1873 and named for an American elk that had been grazed there since 1795.
The first recorded settler in Elk Grove was James Hennessey, who arrived in 1851 from Illinois. Hennessey founded the town of Hennepin on his property north of present-day Elk Grove Village. In 1853, he sold his holdings to Elisha Chafee and others and moved to what is now downtown Elk Grove Village. By 1860, Elmira Chafee had built a large frame schoolhouse and three other buildings near today's intersection of Willits Road and Elmira Avenue. The Elmira School District became Elks Grove Township on October 1, 1865; but it was not until 1893 that the name officially changed to Elk Grove Village when citizens applied for incorporation as a result of Proposition 2 (the "Elk Grove Initiative").
In 1876 Pacific Gas & Electric began construction on its $3 million main line through central California which would come to be known as the Elkhorn Route; this made possible growing trade between Sacramento and Elk Grove by truck or horseback across country desert roads. The towns along the route boasted stores, hotels, churches and schools with pupils from around Northern California boarding Gresham High School for one week each year for winter term in December 1914-15; this visit helped promote growth within their respective communities during early 20th century America’s “Great Migration” storybook era. In 1905-06 George Westinghouse constructed two high voltage transmission lines through central California – one running east-west under Interstate 5 near Red Bluff then switching south near Dixon before terminating at Anaheim Hills – this made possible competition with Southern Californian Edison Company’s new Central Valley transmission lines. In 1918-19 Winton Fenton purchased 4500 acres (2 km²) east of present day Deer Park Lake from John Bickerton This land served as Fenton’s private golf course until 1974 when it was annexed by Deer Park village.Bickerton attachment

Today much of what once comprised downtown ElkGroveVillage has been replaced by subdivisions such as Huntland Ranch Estates & Villages located just off I5 next to Sears Martins.
