The Elk Grove Shooting Club, Inc. began its history in 1934 when a group of gentlemen who owned a ranch near Elk Grove Village formed the club to provide an opportunity for shooting sports enthusiasts of all ages and levels. The first official championship match was held on October 15th, 1934, at the old Rifle Range located in west Elk Grove Village. At that time, rifle shooting was considered a sport for men only and only shotguns were allowed. Over the years, the club has grown and accommodated increasing numbers of members with their own ranges and facilities. In 1984, the club moved to its current location on Bolsa Road in east Elk Grove Village and continues to grow with new members being welcomed each year. Today, the Elk Grove Shooting Club is one of Northern California’s largest sporting organizations with over 2200 member shooters from throughout the greater Sacramento area. In recent years, our focus has been specifically on firearm safety education which we believe is essential for all shooters including those just starting out or returning to shooting after a long absence. Our program includes both NRA-certified instructor training as well as gun handling clinics which are always popular among newcomers to firearms ownership and operations! Elk Grove, California is a small town in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. It was founded by Héctor Cámpora in 1868 as a farming community on the eastern edge of Rancho La Brea. The name comes from the groves of eucalyptus trees that dot the landscape. Today, Elk Grove Village has a population of over 100,000 and its ZIP Code is 94010. The total area covered by forest in Elk Grove Village was 5,955 acres (2,953 hectares) at 2000 census. This forested area is made up of oak woodland, redwood woodlands, chaparral and coastal fog forests. There are also smaller amounts of pine and fir trees within this forested area. Elk Grove Village was founded on October 25th 1868 by Mexican immigrants Héctor Cámpora and his family who had come to live in the fertile land between Alameda Creek and Russian River after being forced out of their rancho near Sacramento by American settlers. The village was named for General José de la Rúa y Costilla who fought against Mexico during the Mexican-American War. The first post office opened in 1875 and continued operation until it closed in 1903 due to lack of mail service available from Santa Clara County. The first store opened in 1876 and operated until 1902 when it became an importer/exporter business known as Smith’s Store which later became part of Sears Roebuck & Co.. The first school opened in 1886 with five students learning to read Morse code before graduating to grammar school two years later followed by high school where they were graduated on June 15th 1889 with honors! A fire destroyed most of the village center on December 4th 1888 but construction began soon after to re-place all buildings using local lumber from local mills including one built specifically for this purpose called “The White House” which still stands today! Elks Grove residents formed their own branch club or “Fuerza de Lucha Libre” which met monthly at Doña Ana Park to discuss current topics such as agriculture or politics among themselves before going onto discuss these topics with other clubs throughout Contra Costa County! This political activity caught the attention of US authorities who monitored this group closely leading to some charges against members including conspiracy against U S government! After many months discussions resulting in no resolution they disbanded their organization without any further action taken! In 1893 Elks Grove merged into San Leandro while simultaneously moves were made towards creating a larger city so that these new developments could be better served! On November 3rd 1898 Elmira Avenue was officially renamed Orchard Road after Orchard Township located east sideof San Leandro reached agreement with Elmira about annexing both towns forming one large municipality named San Francisco Bay City Limits!! Before too long however both towns reverted back to their original boundaries days after relationships improved between them! Unfortunately similar problems occurred with neighboring rural areas such as Livermore becoming incorporated into Oakland making it difficult for citizens living there to keep track of events happening within their municipality!!! Finally following more than two years work effortssanity checker appointed Ernst Mayr headwatershed hydrology supervisor responsible for reviewing water usage patterns within municipalities across county limits!!! Despite all these precautions water levels remained unchanged relativemblowing creek rapids below village limit!!!! By 1916 much progress had been made but World War I disrupted things again causing rationing during which time food prices increased significantly!!!!! In 1922 Elmira Ave waned considerably in popularity partially due to increasing crime rates now becoming an open issue between residents & police department leading eventually to a proposed merger between Elmira & San Pablo although final approval never came through!!!!! In 1931 when gasoline prices increasedOakland annexed Elmira but because Oaklands mayor refused annexation attempts from other villagesSan Francisco Bay City Limits effectively dissolved!!!!!!!!!! After 35 years living here I can say without doubt that my ancestors arrived here around 1868 thru 1895 when 1st post office opened & kept operating until 1903 due to lack mailsprings available from Santa Clara County.....I am proud Hoaxer's ancestor

Elk Grove is a small town in Southern California, located on the edge of the San Joaquin Valley. It's one of the most affluent communities in the state and has been called "the city of Oaks". The name comes from two large oaks that grow near its center. The firstoak was mentioned in 1562 by Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo, and it was likely given to him by Missionaries Francisco and Junípero Serra. In 1847, John Cranch, an American entrepreneur and rancher, purchased land adjacent to what is now Elk Grove Village from José Altamira. He named his community after his Elk Ranch where he had lived with his family for many years. He also built a few homes within the limits of what is now Elk Grove Village. Over time, other Americans began moving into and surrounding Elk Grove Village as well. By 1893, there were over 100 people living in Elkhorn Heights alone! In 1901, Elmhurst Avenue (now Highway 101) was designated as part of Los Angeles County's newly created road system; this made Elkhorn Heights even more important to locals. Over time, Elmhurst Boulevard (now Ventura Boulevard) became one of the most important streets in town; it served as both a commercial corridor and a route for transportation between downtown Los Angeles and various residential neighborhoods nearby. The late 1800s saw significant growth in both Elk Grove Village and Elk Ridge Road (now Elkhorn Boulevard). This was due largely to advancements in transportation - during this time cars became increasingly available on both roads. As development continued throughout the early 1900s, several retail stores opened up along Elmhurst Avenue including Jiffy Lube/Dirty Harry's rock-and-roll barbershop/diner which still stands today at 5954 Elmhurst Ave., while KFC & Taco Bell replaced Mr Chow restaurants along Hwy 101 beginning around 1957-58 thanks to new freeway construction being done at that time! Additionally developing areas were annexed into Eastlake Village - much like today happens with portions of Westwood such as North Hollywood annexingooming parts of Beverly Hills until finally reaching Echo Park proper within recent decades! Throughout these years various festivals have taken place throughout different months primarily centered around golf courses or other aspects related thereto such as concerts or Art Openings etc... With all these things going on not only does Elk Grove feel like it's constantly changing but also quite active compared to some other towns I've been to recently!
